Australian Breakfast Connoisseur Review: Bartels Café 🌟
If you're in Ho Chi Minh City and crave a stellar breakfast, Bartels Café is a must-visit! As someone who knows their breakfast, I couldn't resist sharing my incredible experience at this gem. Having been to Ho Chi Minh City eight times, I've never encountered such exceptional service and delicious breakfast offerings.
Warm Welcome & Inviting Ambience
The moment you walk through the door, you're greeted with friendly smiles, making you feel right at home. The café’s interior exudes a cozy, organic charm that's instantly inviting. Each dish on the menu is accompanied by clear pictures that truly reflect the deliciousness of the actual meal.
Prompt and Perfect Service
Your order arrives in just 10-12 minutes, ensuring that if you're dining in pairs, both meals land on your table simultaneously. This efficiency is as impressive as the food itself!
Our Breakfast Selection:
2 x Scrambled Eggs, Avocado on Sourdough with Crispy Bacon The scrambled eggs, topped with sprouts, a subtle hint of onion, and perfectly sliced avocado, were divine. The texture and consistency were spot-on.
1 x Supercharge Juice A refreshing blend that packs a punch of ginger, this juice is the perfect way to invigorate your morning.
2 x Almond Milk Cappuccinos The taste and texture mirror the quality you'd expect from a café back in Australia. A definite win!
Value for Money
The total cost of our breakfast was a mere 760,000 VND ($45 AUD), which is a fantastic bargain compared to the $70 AUD you'd likely spend for a similar breakfast back home in Australia.
Final Verdict:
Bartels Café delivered an outstanding experience from start to finish. I wholeheartedly give this café a massive 5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
To the team at Bartels, a huge thank you and well done! Keep up the fantastic work—I'll...
Read moreTo the foreign staff member (potentially the owner?) who made our recent brunch experience utterly miserable:
I am writing this review specifically for you, as your behavior on our visit was not only unprofessional but also incredibly disrespectful and deeply upsetting.
My party of six, including a pregnant friend, arrived at your newly opened establishment. Despite the restaurant being full, my friend politely ordered drinks and waited outside for me, demonstrating considerable patience and understanding. When a table became available, we were seated and proceeded to order our food and drinks. Everything seemed fine until we finished our meal, about an hour after being seated.
It was at this point that you appeared. You began to pace back and forth in front of our table with a cleaning spray bottle and a rag. You went up and down the stairs, often stopping to stare down at our table. This unsettling behavior continued for about half an hour. You didn't say a word, yet your hurried movements and clear expressions of impatience made us incredibly uncomfortable. Your actions were a blatant invasion of our privacy and a shocking display of disrespect towards paying customers. It is absolutely unacceptable to make guests feel rushed, unwelcome, and scrutinized, especially when they have just spent their time and money at your establishment. We felt utterly unvalued and frankly, quite angry.
Your behavior was a stark reminder of what not to do in customer service and utterly ruined what should have been a pleasant brunch. Our experience at your restaurant was profoundly negative, entirely because of your appalling conduct. We left feeling disrespected, agitated, and...
Read moreNeedless to say that Thao Dien was lacking a great sandwich spot, and the arrival of Bartels perfectly complements brunch F&B scene of Thao Dien. You will be highly satisfied by the range of options from savory to sweet, catering to multiple tastes, and not only trying to adapt to the local demands. Bartels offers new-to-Vietnamese combinations, at the same time educating the locals about new flavors & tastes, like fig & ricotta, tuna & sun-dried tomatoes. Sourdough bread is claimed to be baked fresh every day, and it feels so - great tasting sourdough matching multiple fillings and dressings. The choice of sandwiches is great, and bravo to the person who crafted the menu. Ingredients match very well together, and it’s really a pleasure to have breakfast / brunch in Bartels.
The team is very welcoming, and although things are not smooth during soft opening (which is COMPLETELY normal, because it is SOFT opening), staff makes sure you’re satisfied and have everything you need.
The design of the place reflects Northern European vibes mixed with the Asian touch and a lot of greenery, and is truly cozy. Two-floored space with tables for single and party-use, where anyone would find a comfortable spot to enjoy.
Special highlight to cutlery that I loved. Very heavy beautiful utensils that I haven’t seen anywhere for a long time.
Overall, greatly advise you to experience Bartels, and I am sure this place will be hard to book, starting from the coming weekends.
Good luck...
