Sushi Hokkaido Sachi - Nguyen Dinh Chieu — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

I stopped by for lunch with my friend and we ordered some sashimi and salad when we started to order 2 of our selection were out of stock so the staff asked us to change to other items. I asked them which one they had in stock so I can choose for those available items. They replied they have everything available except for those 2. I changed to 2 new items and waited for the food to come. Before they served the salad, the staff came back and said another 1 in my selection was just out and asked me to change again. I asked them 1 more time which one was available so I could save time for both and still got the same answer that they had everything else. They kept doing that 3 more times, not at the same time but 3 times 1 item each time, when we were having our salad to ask us to change our item because 1 of our selection just got out of stock. Finally I couldnt stand the bad experience anymore so I asked them to cut the order and give me the bill so I can go to Yen sushi nearby to have my lunch in peace instead. The staff was very hesitate to gave us the bill and kept delaying and convince us to keep our order and changing to new item without saying specifically which items are available. This was super annoying. Finally, after a long fight we got our bill, they didnt apologize at all, paid then went to Yen Sushi for much better experience. Such a way to treat your customer, Hokkaido. I know I should be writing a review of this magic place that saved my relationship more than once. I should be writing about the freshness and texture, TEXTURE I SAY of the sushi, the gentle yet lively atmosphere, and so forth.

But - I feel the urge to talk about "Now and Then", a song by The Beatles. Henceforth, here we go:

Lennon wrote "Now and Then" in the late 1970s. He recorded the unfinished piece of music sometime in 1977 as a demo at his home at The Dakota in New York City. The lyrics are typical of the apologetic love songs that Lennon wrote in the latter half of his career. For the most part the verses are nearly complete, though there are still a few lines that Lennon did not flesh out on the demo tape performance. Writing for the Los Angeles Times, Stephen Thomas Erlewine called Lennon's composition "a wispy, melancholy ballad."

In January 1994, Paul McCartney was given two cassette tapes by Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, which included home recordings of songs which Lennon had never completed or released commercially. The songs on one of the tapes included the eventually completed and released "Free as a Bird" and "Real Love". The two other songs on the other tape were "Grow Old with Me" and "Now and Then", included on a cassette tape which Ono had mentioned to George Harrison and gave to McCartney in 1994, the year Lennon was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll...

Dropped in at this Sushi Hokkaido for dinner after some late evening shopping. We didn't have a reservation, but luckily they had space for us although the place was bustling. The ambience was quite nice with the lightning tinting everything an orange/coral shade. We were sat by the lobster tanks and had an entertainig view of the food preparation happening behind the counter. Warm roasted gingko seeds were provided for us to snack on while we deliberated on what to order. We decided on an ebi tempura, a chicken katsudon, a spicy crunchy tuna roll, a tobiko ebi roll, a special sushi set to share between the two of us, and an elder mint mocktail and a peach, orange lemongrass tea to drink. Other than the chicken cutlet in the katsudon being a tiny bit less crunchy than I would have prefered and the flavour of the katsudon being very light, the rest of the food was marvelous. Loved the crunchy tuna roll, and were crying over the sting of the wasabi with the sushi, but only because it was so good. The special sushi set was a lovely variety of flavours popping in our mouths and the ebi tempura, absolutely crunchy and delicious dipped in a bit of soy sauce. The drinks were neither outstanding nor too bad, the elder mint was extremely sweet and the tea not at all, so sipping from both balanced out the flavours.
