At first, it was the name of this bar that had caught my attention - a HIDDEN cocktail bar? Later it turned out that me and my friend did make a little bit effort to find this "hidden" gorgeous chilling base. Good things always deserve, and Tamarind had proved this for good.
Knock and push the door, we couldn't deny that the ceiling of the bar is really high, high enough to let some lovely ''clouds'' and ''stars'' (decorations and light bulbs) be introduced into the night we spent in Tamarind, providing a magical atmosphere of floating in the sky while we were hovering with the alcohol....
Creativity and bold renovation can be clearly seen on the menu - who would seriously think of combining those world famous liquors with Southeast Asian regional feature flavors? They actually did. Somehow I can tell from the taste that Tamarind guys had shown their sincere respect and love of their local culture, with no lack of confidence to embrace the world meanwhile. Surely, they earned much of my interest and respect. The classic ones should be not bad, but the signatures like TOMYUM, ME SOUL and PASSION SPICY are my love of the bar. Better if you can forget about the budget, just tell the guys behind the bar counter about your feeling at the moment, then you'll get a glass of portrait in which you'll find "Me"-the another name of the bar-thoroughly enjoy the "drink & chill" night.
What's more, we also tried soaking ourselves into the live music during that weekend night. You can sing along and forget about the chaos of daily life and work for once, better if you can follow Vietnamese songs~
Last but not least, my personal compliment should also go to the Tamarind guys like TN, who are really open-minded and nice enough to talk to and make friends with. Especially to express my gratitude to Mr.Boss, who would probably be considered as a conversationalist or even a "story wholesaler" sharing with us his unbelievable wide range knowledge and experience in many aspects, thanks a lot for treating us with the best manner and total sincerity.
To come to Tamarind Hidden Cocktail Bar, drink and chill, may you find and experience the real Sai Gon for one night. Highly...

I had such a great time at this cocktail bar last night that I felt compelled to write this long review to share my excitement with others.
A truly cozy and relaxing bar, where you're always greeted with warmth and care—from the staff to the owner. It’s one of those rare spots perfect for anyone looking for a real bar experience—There’s no mix-up in concept – it knows exactly what it wants to be. It's rich in classic charm, yet constantly evolving with a fresh, modern twist in the drink menu.
What I personally love about this place is how you can feel Vietnamese culture infused into each drink. For example, in one of their recent menus, I got to try three cocktails inspired by familiar Vietnamese street foods—Hủ Tiếu, late-night Ốc, and Sâm Bổ Lượng. It was genuinely fascinating! That sensation of going through layers of flavors, understanding the bartender's intention, and being surprised by the familiarity hidden within the unexpected—it’s hard to explain, but that's exactly how I felt drinking them
Oh, and shoutout to the super friendly, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable owner, bro Lộc Phạm. Looking forward to seeing you again on my next visit! If you're someone carrying a lot on your mind, this is the kind of place where you can unwind and have someone willing to listen and chat with you all the way until closing.
Ah word is, one of the bar's manager recently made it to the Top 20 in the Bartender World Class Vietnam competition. I haven’t even walkthrough the full signatures in the new menu yet.

Read moreOverall, the drinks are decent. I was in the mood for something milky and creamy, but unfortunately, the bar only had one option, and it didn’t come close to what I was hoping for. This is my second time here; my first visit was great, and the drinks matched my taste perfectly. However, this time was a bit disappointing.
The waiter didn’t check in with us before happy hour ended to see if we wanted another round from the happy hour menu. It would be a nice touch if the bar made sure to check in with customers during happy hour.
The atmosphere is generally pleasant, with festive decorations, and the seating arrangements offer enough privacy for each table.
One thing to note is that the bar only offers a small selection of snacks—no cheese or chocolate, no basic options. It’s best to come here after dinner.
While the bar has some creatively named drinks like Phở and Chị Ong Nâu Nâu, they didn’t seem enticing enough for me to try, so I opted for something more basic...
