TEASPOON — Restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City

Tucked away on a quiet street in District 1, TEASPOON is a charming little cafe that offers a welcome escape from the city's chaos. Stepping inside feels like entering a friend's living room - warm, inviting, and decorated with a touch of vintage charm.

I recently visited TEASPOON on a weekday afternoon seeking a quiet place to relax and read. While the cafe was bustling with activity, the noise level was low enough for me to concentrate. The staff were friendly and attentive, patiently answering my questions about the menu.

I opted for a cup of their Vietnamese iced coffee - strong, sweet, and refreshing, perfect for a hot afternoon. I also tried a slice of their red velvet cake, which was simply divine - moist, flavorful, and with the perfect amount of cream cheese frosting.

Nice cozy spot on the second floor. Lots of comfortable seats (couches and armchairs) to relax in for an hour or two. I had a milk tea which was tasty and presented in a cool glass.

One thing to note is that it can be a bit challenging to find the entrance. If you see the second-floor sign (pictured), look immediately below it and there will be a smaller sign for Teaspoon, over a small and unassuming staircase, which is how you’ll get up to the second floor. Directly in front of this staircase is a tiny food stall with stools and people eating, so in my case I had to dodge and weave between the diners to reach the staircase, which is why initially I didn’t immediately find it (I was sure they wouldn’t put the staircase behind a seating area on the sidewalk 😂). Love, love, love this place! I got a little overwhelmed exploring the city and needed a quiet place to reset myself. Enter "Teaspoon" and its peaceful environment and calming tea. During my stay in Ho Chi Minh City, I came by twice. The first time, I ordered the sticky honey chai tea with a red velvet cake. The second I ordered the creme brulee tea with the chocolate cake (I wanted the chocolate pistachio mini cake, but they were sold out).
