I would recommend staying away from the fried food here. I ordered most of their fried dishes (except the tempura, which was unavailable), and, simply put, they were not good. The steak and curry rice were decent, but nothing memorable. There was a surprisingly heavy use of seasoning—something I rarely encounter in Japanese-style restaurants.
Service was quite slow, though it might have been due to the lunchtime rush and the fact that I ordered from the regular menu instead of the lunch menu. Funny moment: I overheard one of the waitresses (not whispering at all) complaining—well, maybe explaining—to a group of regulars about how they had to serve food from the regular menu during lunch today. I couldn’t help but wonder if she was talking about me… hmmm, lol.
I was seated at a solo spot on the first floor by the window, which had a nice view. The booth seating looked a bit dark and cramped, though. There are also tables on the ground floor, but that area was quite noisy—maybe good if you’re after a livelier vibe.
Pricing was okay for an office worker. Not exactly expensive (for a Japanese-style restaurant), but not a cheap eat either. I’d say if you’re in Vietnam and curious to try something different from Vietnamese food (for whatever reason), then sure—give it a shot. But as for me, I wouldn’t...
Read moreThis was one of my favorite restaurants in town. I've been coming here for over 10 years, both at the previous location and the current one across from Bitexco. I loved the little Japanese appetizers – perfect drinking snacks to go down with a nice glass of whisky. The more substantial dishes, such as Uni Pasta and Beef Sukiyaki, were hearty and perfect when you were more hungry. I've taken business associates here for lunch, as well as family and friends for dinner when they visited from out of town. I've gone there to dine by myself often because the atmosphere was calming and relaxing. Sadly, last night will be my last time visiting this restaurant.
Everything I loved about this restaurant was gone. The sashimi came out borderline frozen. The stewed fish in oil was dry and had a strong fish smell. The accompanying bread was so stale that my guest refused to eat it. The beef sukiyaki was too sweet with overcooked vegetables. It also lacked any depth and richness associated with this dish. All three dishes were ones that I've eaten dozens of times at this restaurant. Any chance of salvaging the dinner was gone when the restaurant informed me that my usual whiskies were no longer available by the glass. They had one Scotch that barely passes for something drinkable. Anything decent was only available if you purchased the bottle. Disappointed would not be how I would describe my dining experience. The restaurant had gone and ruined everything I liked about the place. Take your money and go elsewhere.

Most of the dishes here are exceptional, but one stands out—the Shrimp with Garlic & Olive Oil. The succulent shrimp, infused with aromatic garlic and rich olive oil, is a flavor explosion.
