Love Thu Wheels!
We eat here often -- sometimes a few times a week —and the food is consistently good.
It ain’t fancy, but provides a lot of options for breakfast and lunch, both Vietnamese and western style.
The owner/operators are super accommodating and friendly. I modify the heck out of my meals and instead of being met with annoyance, the folks here are happy to make you a meal you will enjoy and come back to have again (and again and again in my case!)
Ly has excellent english as well - if you have any dietary needs there is nothing that gets lost in translation. Ask questions if you want something but may need to adapt it to suit your diet - from what I have seen, if they can they will.
The kitchen is tiny and the staff few, so when it’s busy everyone hustles. When it’s not busy the ladies always take the time for a chat, with tourists and locals alike.
Some recommendations are the Philly cheesesteak, chicken burger, and for a casual brunch the avocado n poached egg toast - add some bacon and hashbrowns and tomatoes to get the epic Sarah breakfast.
All in all this, is a no frills joint with affordable and tasty food where you’ll be served and cooked for by lovely people. Check it out if you...
Read moreBeing from Canada, I come with much higher expectations of western food. I ordered #5 breakfast which came with eggs, bacon, mushroom, hash brown, sausage, and white toast.
The breakdown: eggs are pretty much the same everywhere. Bacon was excellent. Hash browns here are made in an interesting way (crunchy), but I prefer mine soft and surface grilled. Sausage was more like a hot dog than breakfast sausage. Toast was okay.
The coffee is decent here.
Overall, I would recommend ordering something local because we're in Vietnam after all. 😅 Just saying. I'm sure the Vietnamese food would have been a better choice.
Two floors of seating and a very well maintained restaurant. The service is great and friendly. Nice place to eat and hangout down a quiet alley. 10 meters into the alley.
I would say this place is a 4 in regards to western breakfast food. Maybe lunch...
Read moreI'm generally too lazy to leave reviews, but after eating there daily for nearly two weeks I think they really deserve 5 stars ! The family is super welcoming, the food and drinks are excellent, and the prices are extremely fair. Being located in a small dead-end, it's also a very quiet place. They serve Asian and Western dishes and both are generally delicious. I'm not a huge fan of Vietnamese food as I find it somehow bland, but I have to admit their braised dishes are super tasty and highly recommend them. Dishes from other Asian countries such as mapo tofu or pad thai aren't really authentic but they're nonetheless also excellent. Give this restaurant a chance, you won't be...
