Your waitress, Quỳnh G told us we still can order before 9:30pm. I said ok, that’s fine. I already knew in my head what I wanted to order because this is my 5th time to Robata. I love the food here. However, the way Quynh’s attitude towards me and wife was very unprofessional. First of all, you charge a mandatory service charge and VAT charge, please don’t act unprofessional because you know you’re getting my tip money anyways.
Also the first 4 times i was here, I asked for extra ginger, there was never a charge. Of course this time, Quỳnh decided it was 25k dong for extra ginger, without even telling us beforehand as I noticed it on my bill afterwards. I asked why the first four times I’ve been here I was never charged for that but tonight I’m getting charged? she didn’t have an answer. After I paid my bill, she didn’t offer my copy of the receipt to me, and walked away without even saying thank you. I asked after she came back out, where’s my copy of the receipt? She said it’s coming, went back inside and got it for me, and still she didn’t say THANK YOU. When usually they offer my copy after I pay with my MasterCard on the machine. Every time I’ve been here they have happily greeted me upon entrance and happily thanked us upon us leaving. We didn’t get any of that tonight, but instead got a demonstration of an angry waitress because we came at 9:24pm.
On top of that, we finished and paid the bill at 9:45pm. What is your problem Quỳnh? You will never see me and family here again and I will stop telling people how good the food and service here from now on.
I hope you realized we ordered before 9:30pm and finished the food and paid the bill before 10pm so you wouldn’t have to stay late, because we sincerely felt bad. We even left before the tables that came before us. We were shocked how we were treated, we were never rude to your staff and this is how they treated us? Better fix this issue or you guys will never retain customers.
EDIT: my 10 sashimi didn’t have any ginger on my plate, that’s why I have to ask twice. First time for the 10 sashimi, 2nd time was extra so theres enough for me and my wife. Regardless, I don’t even care about the ginger charge, it’s about all the other principles...
Read moreTuna belly sashimi cost roughly 700k yet tasted like it has been frozen for a very long time. It was cut very roughly and presentation was not very good. However i can careless for presentation if the taste was actually good. It was not. You can compare this to fish that taste so cheap you’re not sure if It’s even fish. If you had bought frozen tuna from lottemart and dethaw it, it tasted exactly like it. Very rubbery and not melting in your mouth at all like how normal tuna belly should taste. For such an expensive dish in a high end sushi restaurant, it was a let down.
I’ve been here 4 5 times and it was always a hit or miss. 1 time the seagrape seaweed called “rong nho” that was a decoration for a plate of sashimi tasted like it was moldy. Another time the miso soup comes out very lukewarm to almost cold. This time the tuna belly sashimi and roll was the most expensive dish i had ever order here, was the most disappointing. The pork wrap with okra was too big to fit my mouth and while the chicken yakitori was good, some part was undercooked.
Service is friendly however they did not ask how the meal was to customers. We decided to pay and not say anything as we don’t plan on returning. If it weren’t for kiwami 1 being temporarily closed, we wouldn’t have come here again in the first place.

Read moreI have been here a number of times over the past 18 months and each time the experience has been a little lower than the last visit. Tonight we hit rock bottom with most of the sushi coming out like it was made by an utter amateur. The cuts of fish looked like their were butchered with a dull knife and sloppily put together. I am no sushi snob, but OMG this was really bad put together sushi and they were hardly even busy. Sadly we order the 700k tuna belly and it too was a mess. Never seen such a mess in my entire life actually. Wish I took a photo but I was in such shock. Aside from the visuals, the tuna belly was more just tuna with lots of hard to eat chewy pieces and not the melt in your mouth kind that you would expect for the price. The irony was that tonight was the most expensive sushi meal we have had in Vietnam and yet it was the worst. Really not sure what is going on here, but it really is not a high end sushi place at all anymore.
