Bach Restaurant- Phu Quoc — Restaurant in Phú Quốc

We had a terrible experience at Bach – avoid like the plague. Me, my wife and child visited this restaurant on 21st January 2023 for dinner. Our server was clearly inexperienced and undertrained. It was an excruciating experience ordering food, since the server did not understand English at all and the menu was unclear with respect to the ingredients. We noticed (later) that there were other staff who were better equipped at serving us but this server chose not to pass our table to them. We ordered our child's dinner, with explicit instructions to serve her food first. Since my wife is extremely allergic to shrimp, we made this fact adequately clear to the server, both verbally as well as in writing in Vietnamese through Google Translate – and received a verbal confirmation from the server that she understood our concern. Each and every dish that we ordered was individually confirmed by our server to have no shrimp. Our first dish arrived before our child's despite our clear instructions. Before we could take a bite, the server lifted the dish and said that she had made a mistake and the dish contained shrimp and offered to replace it with another dish, which we refused. Then, our second dish arrived, and again, there was no sign of our child's dinner. Just as my wife took the first bite, our server came running and yelling that there is shrimp in the dish. Thankfully, my wife was carrying her anti-allergy medications and immediately popped them. We were pretty agitated about this and asked them to cancel our food and bring our child's food so that we can get out of this godforsaken place. The management was entirely apathetic and insensitive towards this whole incident, and we would have passed this off as a bad day; until a gentleman claiming to be the owner mentioned between small talk that "this mistake happened because of the state festival" – get real man, your staff won't forget what a shrimp allergy means because it's a state holiday. I hope establishments like Bach shut down before they kill someone because their staff isn't sensitised towards allergies. We didn't have such a horrible experience with any other...

The restaurant is below average and the staff is very inconsiderate . We translated the whole order in Vietnamese to let them know about shrimp allergy and they assured us they will take care but all dishes came with shrimp and luckily I was carrying my medicine . Really slow service. There was only one other couple dining in the restaurant. We ordered dim sim 4 dishes and it took over an hour. It turns out they forgot to send our order to the kitchen. The staff sat down and completed their own lunch before our food even came out. Prices are a ok for a basic restaurant.
