Let me start by saying I absolutely love kimchi jjigae.
I order the kimchi stew and I had a bit of a selfish request where I asked to substitute the pork belly with beef as I hate the flavor of pork.
The waiter didn’t understand my request so I pulled out my Google translate app and made sure I got the point across “no pork please substitute for beef.” If I needed to pay extra I would of happily, I also asked if it was possible to order a side of noodles as I like to finish my broth with noodles. When I was served I was told no pork no beef and wasn’t served any noodles like I asked. Point is if it was a question of incurring extra cost I would have happily paid as I have traveled all over and never had any problems when making these selfish request.
I was served a kimchi stew with no meet whatsoever and had the waitress eyeing me down the whole time as I ate which created a very intense atmosphere. I left full but unhappy.
I finished my food as it was my first meal of the day and was absolutely starved and if I didn’t eat I would have thrown a tantrum so I ate and kept my cool paid and left.
Based on the service I absolutely do not recommend and was so un happy I find myself writing this lengthy review. Needless to say I will never return no will I ever recommend this place to any friends again truly unhappy and...
Read moreIt is pretty descent restaurant as I think. Their bibimbap and kimchi jjigae is pretty eatable. The bibimbap is simple veggie with a good sesami oil. Kimchi jjigae was okay with . I might have chose a good taste food on menu however it is quite okay taste to me. Their spicy pork is average taste to me due to a bit hard texture and heavy spice but their lettuce, carrot and cucumber was fresh. Their type of banchan is not my favorite but it is okay. ---- I visited again for denjang jjigae(soybean soup) and seafood ramyen. Denjang jjigae is very blend. If they add more denjang paste and spicy green chilli pepper with gravy of potato, it would be better. This is just my personal opinion. The seafood ramyeon is not Shinramyon or Jinramyeon noodles, it is Neoguri noodles which is thicker than other noodles. It has one shrimp and two piece of squid(not that small), one...
Read moreAs I see the owner is Korean, obviously that I gotta try it. I have spicy sweet noodle (which is cold soup) and bibimbap. Everything is just so different. The owner/chef doesn't change the taste to fix Vietnamese's tase like other places.
I highly recommend if u wanna try real Korean food. Personally, I wanna try Jajangmyeon 짜장면 but it doesn't seem like they have it.
Anyway, still great to give it a shot. For me, it's a perfect night 👍🏼👍🏼
P/s: I forgot to mention this. The staff is amazing and friendly. It gives me the cozy vibe/family...
