Gourmet | EastPark Mall — Restaurant in Lusaka Province

Went to this restaurant specifically for the dessert since it looked good on the pictures and everything. So let me begin with that.

Firstly I was slightly disappointed with it since my expectations was for the chocolate shell to melt as the hot chocolate was poured on top of it but the chocolate wasn’t hot enough for it to melt, therefore, I had to break it with my spoon to get to the inside which is filled with some berries and a brownie. Taste wise it was very chocolatey and was smooth and extremely sweet. The berries were good and so was the brownie and went well with the vanilla ice cream. Overall I would say it’s nice to get it once but I probably wouldn’t order it again if I go there.

Next up is the burger with the onion rings. I got the veg burger which was bit dry and could have had more of a punchier flavour. The onion rings were fine nothing more worthy of them but nothing that would necessarily disappoint you either. My friend got the chicken burger and it was okay is the best I could get out of him.

The fries were an absolute disaster if anything. The cheese in it was just not up any standard, the fires were super thin and the overall taste was just a disappointment of the money I spent on it. Honestly they should rethink this dish and how they serve it entirely.

The decor of the place is alright. It’s next to several other restaurants which may have better decors even but can’t complain, it is what it is. To sum it up maybe worth one visit would definitely think of alternatives if I had to choose to...

I recently took a guest to Gourmet, touting it as one of the best restaurants in town. Unfortunately, our experience was far from impressive.

Some of the issues we encountered;

We were served our drinks before our food, and only after bringing half the first few dishes, did we need to remind the waitress she didnt give us plates and when the plates came she brought less. It was like she was just going through the motions. The only good thing was the Buffalo chicken Pizza. We had high hopes for the loaded fries, but assumed it's loaded with cheese sauce, but idk what that was because it was sweet. Like, what kind of loaded fries are sweet? Mixed veggies, looked like butternut or sweet potato and peppers only, not sure what type of mixed veg that is, which was only served when we were done eating. It felt like an afterthought. the portuguese chicken sizzler, I dont even know where to start, it tasted like unwashed chicken with spices. The flavors were off, and the texture was weird. The sticky buffalo wings, were fried pink looking wings with sticky sauce drizzled around the plate? Did we order a sticky plate or sticky wings not sure. It was just confusing. Chicken strips were totally dry, idk how you can mess up chicken strips that badly.

Additional issues: No salt or sauce was served on the table and we had to ask for it. Idk what the waitress was doing but she really wasn't doing her job, poor customer care service. We felt like we were just...

It is one of the many restaurants nestled among the array of culinary offerings on the southwest side isle of East Park Mall. I had the pleasure of indulging in the tomahawk steak, while pleasing to the palate, regrettably did not meet the lofty expectations of size one might have harbored. Nonetheless, the refreshments provided a pleasant accompaniment to the meal, and the ambience exuded a tasteful charm. Regrettably, the intrusion of flies proved a minor nuisance, disrupting the tranquility of the occasion. A humble suggestion, if I may to the owners, would be the installation of a door fan to discourage their entry, thus preserving the sanctity of the dining environment. Additionally, it behooves me to mention the inconvenience inherent in relying upon the mall's restroom facilities. The necessity of leaving the restaurant to avail oneself of such amenities detracts somewhat from the overall dining experience.
