I was 8 minutes late to my appointment and when I arrived a woman told me she'd be right back, but wasn't back for 7 minutes. I am certain of the times because I had a paediatrician appointment scheduled afterwards and I was worried that I wouldn't have time for my appointment afterall. Another woman approached me and said that, because I was late, they wouldn't be able to fit me in. I didn't mind this so much as I was worried about the later appointment anyway. What I did mind was the tone she used, so I pointed out that I was not very late, so she pointed out that I was 15 minutes late, so I pointed out that I was actually 8 minutes late and then waited for someone to talk to me. The original woman had come back by this time and exclaimed, "Not 15 minutes!" in an aggressive tone. To this I clarified that I was 8 minutes late and then waited for 7 minutes for someone to check me in and left. I would expect this type of customer service from very young people, or perhaps at a fast food outlet, but not from 50 year old women at an Optometrist appointment. The whole thing could have been avoided if they had modified their tone of voice. Anyway, as I won't be using SpecSavers Rundle Mall anymore, neither will my husband or children, so that's several customers lost. We have been using SpecSavers for at least 10 years, so we will probably use another store nearby, but I would recommend some customer service/dispute resolution training for the elderly women at the Rundle Mall store. I spent about 8 years in complaints and dispute resolution, so I know how it's done and this was...
Read moreThe optometrists are very professional.
The one thing that damages the reputation and professionalism of the store is the way they suddenly announce "we'll do the hearing test first" when you come in to have your eyes checked. I presume they do this to drum up business for their new audiology department. I certainly hope they are not charging Medicare (and therefore taxpayers) for each of these "free" hearing tests. After I made an appointment for my eye test, I received a long and detailed email about what to expect at my appointment. There was no mention of a hearing test at all, which tends to suggest that they are trying to catch people off guard when they arrive for their eye test. But why would I want to do a hearing test when I've made an appointment to have my eyes checked? And they don't ask "Would you like to do a hearing test?" The way they phrase it makes it sound like you have no choice in the matter. It smacks of hucksterism. My husband felt tricked into doing this hearing test, and told me afterwards that the test was almost useless, because the room it was conducted in was not soundproof at all, and so many different noises from outside the room interfered with his ability to accurately do the...
Read moreIts long story but very upsetting service. Dont wanna mention their name, but the optical assistant and the optometrist didnt help at all. I told them in a good way, that I didnt have good vision when night time with the latest glasses they made, we went through a new check, they charged me half price for seeing the optometrist again for new prescription, and that charging matter kept being brought from one person to another people, bcos they probably afraid I wouldnt pay, which I agreed to pay before we did the check to more than 3 people. I am not rich, but when I agree to pay means I can afford and will pay.
They insisted they couldnt help at all when I said, " I cant see clearly at night" and forced me silently to go away with the glasses with just standing there and looking at me without saying anything.
I wouldnt bother to give bad review at all if it wasnt because of that upsetting service.
If specsaver is ready to give service only during the purchase and not after the purchase, please make it clear, and dont even mention 3months satisfaction guarantee.
Whats the point of getting new glasses with specsaver, if the glasses they made doesnt fully help you with...
