. A1 architecture . Close to the city . Open during the week . Well known treasure of Adelaide city . You will find God there seated just above the purple rectangular prism, representing the ark of the covenant. . I would like to see a unified mentality of embracing all Christians as brothers and sisters in Christ, regardless of their denomination. We’re members of the same body, and need unity to be Jesus’ hands and feet in this city. . Long history of stability . Baptismal facility . Guided tours . A vessel on its way to heaven, propelled by parishioners of faithful stead, giving their all for Christ. . Heavenly choir . The building is beautiful. I believe this to bring glory to God. He deserves the best, and here is one of his favourite churches, no expenses spared, only the best materials, staff, design, and art can be found within these walls. The ‘sanctuary behind the sanctuary’ is a pleasant and peaceful little place to pray. . Thankyou. You make every Christian in Adelaide proud to be a Christian, and confident that we do have a place in this city, God is building his church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. . Founded in connection with Jesus’ right hand man :) Peter … who walked on water, Dropped everything to follow Christ, and was crucified in Rome … no longer in denial of the one who...

Beautiful old cathedral. Ornate stained glass and wood carving galore. Beautiful furnishings and you can see right up into one of the spires from inside. A few nods to mediaeval times with different crests on pews and upholstery with old style pictures. Interesting to see. Lovely garden and pond outside. The kids enjoyed watching fish in the pond. The scale of it has to be seen in person... It's pretty big. The staff there were really lovely and there's a little gift shop. There's a private little chapel out the back you can check out too and an eerie little staircase going down underneath the cathedral which visitors are not to use. I imagine there are tombs under there or something. You can give a small donation to light a candle and the kids enjoyed exploring all the different chairs and kneelers. Interesting to see the dedications over the years - some of the benches and outside pavement have been dedicated to the memory or one person and another. Get some good pictures across these road under the big old tree (a type of fig...

St Peter's Cathedral in Adelaide is a stunning architectural gem that gracefully represents the city's profound history and commitment to its religious legacy. The cathedral's majestic spires and elaborate stonework are a testament to the Gothic Revival style. The interior is truly breathtaking, with magnificent stained glass windows that cast a spectrum of colors across the sacred space, creating an atmosphere of reverence and tranquility. The history of St Peter's is as fascinating as its appearance. Constructed between 1869 and 1904, it has been a silent witness to the city's evolution and a steadfast symbol of faith for its community. The cathedral's role transcends religion, serving as a gathering place for the community and a venue for various cultural events. Visitors are often captivated by the cathedral's ability to blend historical significance with a sense of welcoming warmth, making it a must-visit destination for both worshippers and architecture...

Such a beautiful, old historic church that stands out in Adelaide city. I loved the model of the church which some clever man had hand made! We spent quite awhile inside, mesmerised by all the intricate carvings and all the stunning lead lighting on the windows and glass panes. We came by here after staying at the Oval hotel and apparently caught the tail end of the Commonwealth service. Was spectacular watching & listening to the bagpipes. We went to the very back of the church to the private prayer room and when in there you just want to sit and reflect. Situated right on the corner, this gorgeous building can be seen from multiple angles. So pretty at night time too.
