Twelve on Albert — Attraction in Beechworth

Most Terrible and Horrible reception of all. The woman owner was super rude, and act like a crazy. We were driving back from Sydney to Melbourne, and decided to stop by beechworth .We first book it through Agoda, we search for a room for 3ppl, it pops up and we tried to book it. As the payment from agoda didn't go through, the owner called and said she will cancel the booking on agoda and asked us to pay her directly. we arrived nearly 7pm, after we unloaded our luggage, we went out and try to get dinner. when we reach the carpark, that woman came out and said the room is not allowed for 3person . we didnt know about that beforehand, then we asked her if she got another room, she said no but she could recommended other accommodations for the extra person. we said all good, we will find a room out there after dinner as there is no mobile reception here. after a few minutes we drove out the hotel, that woman called and summoned us to go back to return the room key! as the reception is poor, the phone keep cutting off, and she kept calling like a mad even if we said we are driving back. after we got back, she already move out our luggage to the lobby, and ask us to leave. I said she at least give us a reason, she said SHE DONT FEEL LIKE renting the room to us! then I asked her to settle the refund right now, she said she would not fully refund to us and she kept pushing us to the door and said leave now or she will call the police. I said I'm more then welcome if she called the police, then she push us out the door and locked it! this is the rudest human that I've ever met! terrible service ! and she is not even refunding a dollar till now! totally madness ! Sham on...

Overpriced for good toiletries and a bouncy bed. I imagine it would be great for an older/retired couple in winter time.

For us, here's our likes/dislikes:

Liked · Nice toiletries; Clean; Comfy bed BUT no partner silencing, I woke with every move of my partner; plenty of tea and coffee but only large tea cups to drink from (plus wine glasses of course).

Disliked · Size of the room - only room for one comfy seat and not much room for luggage; Access - stone driveway meant carrying wheelie cases (from the carport); Powerpoint locations - the toaster had to be used on the floor as there was no point near the bench; The bathroom socket was opposite the mirror without a bench for straightener/hair dryer to sit; No points next to bed. DND signs missing - accessed our room during our stay, during Covid times we did no expect this nor appreciate it; Mini bar - no Prosecco/bubbles; On a hot day there was no where for us to escape the heat, and relax and watch TV except sit on our bed in our room. The gardens were lovely but it was far too hot to enjoy them; Easy enough check-in but not until around 3pm was a bit later than I'd hoped. Extended SMS...
