Absolutely disgusting service. Aggressive and abusive. Staff do not wash hands in between touching dirty dishes and making food with their bare hands (I'm aware that no gloves can be safe, however hands were not washed in between) Food isnât home made, croissants came out of a packet from the supermarket yet charging bakery prices. Upon seeing this, I asked in a calm voice if we could have a refund, owner responded in an extremely confrontational way âwhat are you in a hurryâ throwing his hands up. We were in a slight hurry and there was about 5 customers in the cafe. We explained we felt a bit uncomfortable due to the lack of hygiene and the food we ordered doesn't take long to make (experience in hospitality and fast paced cafes). I have tasted around 100 or more dirty chaiâs in my life, the coffee tastes like they donât clean the machine, this was the worst dirty chai Iâd ever tasted. Owner went on to say âyouâre the only customers who have ever complainedâ and continued to berate us. Owner only refunded for food. Reported to local...
Read moreDisgusting service from a rude old woman. Stopped in so the kids could buy some crystals as recommended by the lady at the bakery. I was going to buy some chutney & jams until the rude witch snarled at my husband about me using the toilet, which is apparently $4 if not purchasing something. After paying $18 for crystals Iâm told I wonât be charged the toilet fee, when I said but weâre still paying customers she said but you havenât purchased anything to put in your mouth. Absolutely arrogant. ** Your response says it all! As I said I stopped by so my children could purchase crystals as recommended. I would not deny them that because of your horrible attitude, however, I did not purchase anything for myself. If it wasnât for my kids I would have told you to shove your business. Donât try and justify your behaviour by putting it on me. You said I HAD to have bought something to âput in my mouthâ so maybe include that...
Read moreHorrific and rude staff, generic overpriced wares. We were abused by the staff for using the bathroom and not buying anything before leaving despite the fact our group had ordered coffees just earlier. Not only that but they aggressively gestured to a sign that WAS NOT VISIBLE when the bathroom was used . They went on a tirade about "respect" despite trying to intimidate us into spending money there. Beechworth has a lot of beauty but avoid this pathetic excuse for a cafe like the plague.
**Edit: The response below that my companions were appalled by any "behaviour" is an appalling lie. It demonstrates the owners fragile ego and inability to accept responsibility for their...
