We arrived for breakfast on a sunny total fire ban day at 9.40am with our dog. All outside tables were in the sun but the lovely shaded courtyard didnt ‘open’ until 10am and we were not allowed in there. Our waitress was lovely and understanding and went to speak to the manager but the answer came back no ! Not even to sit there and wait until 10 am to order. Really poor attitude to paying customers on such a hot day and we had already ordered so sat uncomfortably eating our breakfast in the sun. Meanwhile other groups arrived and were seated in there - no option given for us to move. Felt that locals got preferred. It took me having to walk up to a new waitress to even be able to order another coffee as we were ignored after the 10am staff change. If it is a staffing issue ( as they said) use common sense and open the courtyard and don’t serve in the sun. The food was reasonable but at Melbourne prices. Coffee is good. All of the bagels, blt’s etc are premade so if you want to omit anything it is not an option. Eg: mayo/ alioli is on nearly all of them. This experience really soured our visit to Bendigo as ALL of the other cafes and restaurants we visited during the week were fantastic and friendly. I felt this cafe had a bit of attitude and I could not...

If I could leave a zero star review I would. Walked in here, asked for 2 breakfast burritos and one to have no spinach but was too hard to get one made up with no spinach as “they are all pre made for the morning “ even tho I asked to get a fresh one made up, it was made to be near impossible and then the lady said even if I wanted one without it, all they’d do is grab one out the window and take the spinach out. I’m allergic to spinach so she never gave me the option of getting a fresh one made and wasn’t considerate at all. Almost $15 for some egg, bacon and leaf in a wrap and I have to eat what’s been made and put in the fridge from earlier on with residue of something that’s going to make me really sick. Sick on these so called cafes getting away with this selling sub par food at full price which was made hours ago, out of a display window. You should be ashamed...

Used to come here a lot.

The Percy Cheesburger was a staple. Man it was just gorgeous. On a lovely brioche, and mouth-watering amazing... Must have eaten at least a dozen of those last year.

...but, I think something's changed. Either supplier or chef, as it's just not the same any more. I keep meaning to go back, but the last few times have just been so disappointing. The burger still looks beautifully presented. And appears to be cooked perfectly. But the flavours don't meld together as amazingly... it's just... ...average.

I'm still planning on returning to see how they are. Will hopefully be able to report positively. It's still a great place for coffee and dessert. And to be fair, the rest of the food looks great. It's really just this one menu item that I...

An awkward DIY lunch: had lunch here with my 1 year old daughter. I tried to find a place suitable to sit at level with my daughters high chair (most of the seating is stools and raised tables) ended up settling for a two seater table near the entrance, ffirst mistake - people kept tripping over the chair legs walking in and out. I ordered the boiled egg and soldiers for my daughter and crumpets for myself. The kids meal was liteally a boiled egg in its shell for a child to crack open and peel? Crumpets had spreads that needed to be spread over it. So i spent my lunch buttering, spreading spreads and peeling the shell of a boiled egg. Hot chocolate was nice, but practicality of kids meals needs to be reconsidered

They have mostly communal seating here, we were 'lucky enough ' to be seated at the same table as a grizzly child. Thankfully the parents were fantastic and got the child under control, so we were able to enjoy our breakfast. Hubby had the poached eggs, bacon, with tomato, spinach, feta and dukkah (can't remember what it was called) and I had the poached eggs on toast. Literally 2 eggs on one measly thin piece of sourdough toast - $15! The least they could have done is provided 1 piece of toast for each egg, for that sort of money! I had to pinch a piece of hubby's toast, otherwise I'd have gone hungry. Hubby enjoyed his big brekky at 8 Sisters Cafe alot more, but said the tomatoes were nice!

Popped in for a little bite to eat on a hot day before heading to Bendigo Woollen Mill. Looks like a fun little place and it caught our attention as we drove past. We were seated in a private room on a large table with great air conditioning. I ordered the special arancini and salad and my mum ordered a Chicken Waldorf roll. We loved the feel of this place and enjoyed looking at the pic behind the counter of the original building and the people lining up for rations. How blessed we are to live in this time. Recommend Percy and Percy if you're looking for a great brekky, brunch or lunch spot. Outdoor seating area suitable for larger groups.
