Music City — Attraction in Brisbane City

Yesterday was my first time at a karaoke booth for my birthday, and although nerve-wracking, it was a super fun experience!

The staff over the phone were kind, and were able to accommodate to any changes. This was around three days before, and I am very thankful they were open and tolerant to my constant calls and questions. I will note that texting them is a lot faster than calling; I had to wait around 30 minutes on call to book.

The staff member who had my group was extremely helpful. He made all policies clear, and helped us with navigating the system in the karaoke booth. I do wish they had a print out of the instructions of the system, since it would've been easier than scrolling through the insta post (it was tedious), but it was easy to pick up overall!

The sound system is excellent, lots of variety in songs (and still updates!). They even had Alien Stage songs, which was a shocker. It's more Korean-catered to (the other international songs had Korean subtitles below). Mics worked well, a little echoey, though we only realised in the last 15 minutes that there's a knob for that. I'm not even sure if it made a difference. Minimal background noise from other groups. Atmosphere was lively!

Admittedly, the facilities are somewhat tattered, specifically the bathrooms. The couches were a little worn, but still comfy, and the bathrooms do have a graffiti issue. But for the price, you take some, you lose some. For me, it was a minor drawback; they were all clean.

I forgot about the drink options... i think it was BYOD actually. They also let outside foods into the venue, but only dry snacks, which is reasonable.

Overall, a wonderful night with friends, and I highly recommend this place! Service was lovely, and for the price and atmosphere, I will come back again! Wish I asked to take a group...

I have been to music city multiple times and have had positive experiences in the past, but me and my friends will never be coming back. I made a booking at music city for 2 hours for 13 people. When I arrived at the venue 5 of our group members were not able to attend. We informed the staff member that we only had a group of 8, however, he told us he will be charging for 13 people as that was the original booking. When we entered our room it was clear to us that the room would not have fit 13 people comfortably. If this was the case then why were we charged for 13 people instead of 8 people when we had the room booked for the next two hours regardless? You guys could not have possibly allocated another group to that room in the 2 hours we were there, so why charge for the extra 5 people? We checked your policies, but they were no where to be found and there was no mention when the booking was made for extra charge if people did not show up. With 8 people present already we would have had your largest room anyway. I think the service provided to us was insensitive and if that is one of your hidden policies you should either consider making it more clear or scrapping the policy entirely because it is unfair. I’m sure we are not the first group that was treated in this way as your staff looked like they had done this before. We will be doing karaoke elsewhere...

Would highly NOT recommend going if your looking for a night out - The staff weren't doing their job. We went there as 2 people, walked in and asked how they charge. We paid the money and literally being shoved into a tiny room WITHOUT being informed of any things we needed to know BEFORE we paid the money. 1. They didn't bother to ask if we need any help with how to use the controller(it's not in English) , me and my friend literally sat there and trying to figure that out ourselves while 20 minutes has passed. 2. Even though it's said BYO on their Instagram ,none of the information were being mentioned neither do any signs were being shown when we were there in person. The staff didn't even let us know they stopped serving alcohol wise drinks at a certain hour. We literally had to stepped out & wasting our PAID money / time to search for information ourselves. And the staff were always sitting there and chit chatting !! I'd suggest save your money to somewhere else, this place will 💯 RUIN your...
