This Crown Theatre has changed so much! When a Pop Concert/Tribute is held such as "Bjorn Again" early 2024 and soon "BeeGees" in October '24, the Management is allowing patrons to dance..?! IOW, we are paying top dollar to go for a dance like in a Pub/Tavern..??
During Born Again, I was astounded to find that the people in front of us were standing up halfway through the show and decided to dance at their seat! Once a few stood up, the entire public in the Theater stood up!
When Management was approached about it, we were told that at times patrons are encouraged to dance..?? In a Theatre?? The definition of a Theatre is where people pay extra for the convenience of watching a SHOW, not people's backsides.
How disrespectful, arrogant and selfish can the Management not be, without even regarding the ones behind them who cannot stand up due to their age or disability, the very ones who pay just as much as any other (at times $5 less) but are denied the enjoyment of watching what they were hoping to watch?! And, for the Management to even encourage this is beyond my imagination!
It shows how low they are stooping in order to rake in the extra $$ and are therefore prepared to disregard other human beings of their rights to enjoy the show that they have paid for.
I made a complaint about this and was reimbursed for the 2 Tix for the upcoming "BeeGees" at the Crown Burswood, which was much appreciated however, what about all others who cannot get up from their seat...?!
I watch many tributes at the Astor and Regal Theatres, the Guards make sure order is maintained within the Theatre during the entire show, until the very end when it is the norm to stand up in appreciation of their performance. Right throughout the show we are encouraged to sing along and wave our arms up high but certainly NOT to dance out of respect for the ones behind them. Should some wish to dance, they move right to the front where they have the space to dance without blocking the view of others, since the stage is so much higher up.
How can the older, less costly Theatres make sure their patrons behave and be respectful right throughout the shows, yet a so called "classier" Theatre drop their standards so low as to being prepared to devalue and dishonour the ones who have purchased their tickets but who are unable to stand up and dance..??
Some of the Crown Theatre performances have also not been up to standard lately therefore, in my opinion, nowadays it's only worthy of purchasing Tix if we know that it is a show of value, where the possibility of dancing is out of the question, such as an Opera, for instance.
I leave it to the ones who enjoy going to a Pub style Theatre within the Crown Burswood complex and let them enjoy themselves to the detriment of the ones who are unable to get out of their wheelchair and end up watching backsides instead, due to the "new"...
Read moreWow. We came to see An American in Paris. The performance was scheduled for February and was postponed until July due to COVID travel restrictions into WA. It was well worth the wait. Parking is recommended at the multi-level parking or carpark P4. Parking is free but needs to be validated. Validation can occur at the box office which is only open Monday to Friday. Validation on the weekends can occur at Crown Rewards after the scheduled event unless you have a Crown Rewards card. If you purchase a drink or meal before the event and use your Crown Rewards card, you can validate your parking before the event instead of queing up after the performance. Access to the theater from parking is through the casino and provides good signage. The venue is awesome. Every seat has a clear view of the stage. Each row of seats has plenty of leg room and relatively easy passage for others to get in and out. Seats are very comfortable. Each seat has a retractable table. Drinks and snacks are permissible during the performance. No glass allowed. There is a twenty minute intermission at the half way point. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase. Prices are on the high side...
Read moreWell, off we trotted—my daughter, myself, and our 15-week-old granddaughter (yes, she had her headphones on, looking very professional for someone who can’t sit up yet).
We kicked things off at Market & Co with a shared lunch that hit all the right notes. The staff were so lovely, especially Andrew, who treated us like royalty—minus the tiaras, sadly. We genuinely felt a bit spoilt (not that we complained). The food? Tasty as! Honestly, I’d go back just for the chips.
Then it was off to Crown Theatre for Beauty and the Beast. The ushers at Door 2 were absolute gems—kind, helpful, and clearly trained in the art of fairy godmothering. When little JD got a bit restless (as one does when you’re under four months old and not yet emotionally invested in Gaston’s ego), I stepped out to avoid disturbing others.
That’s when the magic really kicked in. I was given a comfy chair, and Sofie even turned on a monitor so I wouldn’t miss a single enchanted moment. How cool is that? Huge thanks to Sofie—total legend.
All in all, it was a fabulous outing. We laughed, we lunched, we loved the show—and best of all, we made some truly...
