Room number: 351. Room with a view. Twin double beds. Positives: large, spacious room. Clean. We paid for a room with a view which was worth it especially at night. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The pillows were comfortable. There is a nice seating area with a small table at the windows overlooking the view. The large bathroom had sliding shades that opened into the bedroom so you could sit in the tub and watch a movie. The rooms are sound proof. Not one did we hear chatter from our neighbours rooms (and the hotel was fully booked). Negatives: double bed wouldn't sleep two people comfortably in my opinion unless you are extremely tiny. It was difficult trying to figure out how to manage the light switches and also the TV didn't simply turn off by pressing the button on the remote (which all other buttons were working). The bar fridge is small and they jam pack it with drinks and items they want you to buy so there's no room for putting your own items. The Atrium buffet breakfast was awful (I rate it 5/10). The breakfast came as part of a package with the room. Back when this was the Burswood hotel, we use to often have the Atrium breakfast and it use to be so good. The scrambled eggs had the taste of aniseed though them. The bacon was dry. The fried eggs were overcooked. The waffles were very doughy. The orange juice was nice. The buffet is about 50% Asian cuisine and 50% Western. Apart from the pool, there's not much for children to do and the location is away from everything unless you have a car or want to catch a train. I would stay here again, however only when the rooms are on special. I noticed some night the rooms are priced over $690 AUD. I would not pay that. We paid $300 for the night. I wouldn't bother with the buffet breakfast.

To call this a 5 star hotel is an absolute joke. They don’t even provide complimentary bottled water, called guest services and they confirmed metropol rooms do not get free water and did not offer any sort of alternative/once off goodwill gesture. Despite not having any free water, the minibar fridge was full of paid items. When we arrived at drop off the staff came and opened the door for me but didn’t help take our suitcases out, there were 2 other staff standing near the boot of the car having a conversation and they didn’t assist either, we only had 2 carryon size small suitcases… Check in was slow. Room was very dated and dirty, stains on carpets, marks on walls etc. Shower was extremely small, maybe 80cm x 80cm with mould growing. The fixtures were all old and damaged and water spraying out in random directions. We checked in late afternoon and went to dinner, when we came back we noticed stain on toilet (see pic), went and spoke to duty manager and was told hotel fully booked and no rooms available for upgrade until the next day… Next day I was called at 11am for room change, packed and went down to front desk only to be told the replacement room was not ready yet and they advised me to go back to my room, why call me then? The staff that they later sent to my room to assist me with the room change didn’t even offer to help with suitcases, just said “you’re okay with your luggage’s yeah?” There were issues with replacement room but couldn’t be bothered complaining anymore, we knew we’d have the same issues even with room change. $350 aud per night and not even free water We couldn’t wait to leave. It’s a shame because it is a lot closer to the casino and restaurants than crown towers

Unimpressive and inconsistent with the Crown branding/reputation/standard. Rooms: The carpet was so dirty, my white socks ended up brown after walking on it. Mouldy shower heads were also another feature of the room 🥲 There were no complimentary water bottles provided, so we ended up going to Woollies to buy a slab of bottled water in addition to boiling the tap water from the bathroom. Given the terrible soundproofing, you can hear everything that happens in the atrium area; from the live entertainment on the weekends that end at approximately 11pm, to the random yelling from children/patrons. As the windows are poorly sealed, you can also hear all the cars outside through the glass. Even the government housing towers in Victoria has better sound proofing than the hotel rooms here. I do commend the blackout blinds. They're amazing at blocking out any peep of light during the day and the bright glaring colourful lights during the night. Amenities: We skipped the pool and kids area completely due to hygiene concerns. If Crown Metropol fails to do the basics and ensure their rooms don't have mould, I question their ability to maintain everything else. Despite the restaurants being conveniently located at our doorstep, the opening hours and high demand makes that perk quite useless. To avoid disappointment, book your lunches/dinners in advance. Service: The staff are so lovely here. It's such a shame that they work in a hole like this. The service provided by some of the staff are exactly what one would expect from a real "5-star" hotel. The service we received is the only reason as to why I'd give this place any stars; otherwise, it'd get none at all.

VIP apartment booked last night for one night as it was the only option available . Charged me $2000 and $1000 for bond . The apartment was very nice decorated and spacious enough for 8 people with SPA and steam room . Very poor condion and needs a serious maintenance. This was not a 5 star VIP apartment . All apartment equiped with very old and useless android tablets which did not work at all . TVs did not work , SPAs control knobs did not work . Phone was disconnected . No internet . The apple computer in office room did not work. Lots of water leakages and damage found on sealing . One room was locked and I couldn’t open the door, inside the SPA area you can see a mirror thing with a green small light on middle which I thought might be a built in TV inside mirror and absolutely no way to turn on . which made me unsecured and uncomfortable while I was showering . Barbecue in balcony was dirty . Plumbing system made a lot of noise when people shower in next door apartment . Tooth brushes was very bad quality.

At 2:30 midnight 5 security scary man came into the apartment whiteout any notice as the door bell did not work and phone was disconnected. They said fire alarm activated and they had to inspect the apartment . I did not allow them first but they said it was an emergency and they had to inspect fire alarm ( imaging me scared on midnight with 5 tall big security people came into your privacy ) . I let them in because I had no choice . They directly came to my room and left without any apologies. They did not check the fire alarm which was not buzzing at all . If it was a fire emergency the had to evacuate not coming into your room without your consent . They were security people not fire specialists . I believed they lied to me and they wanted to check me while I was trying to sleep . I am an absolute non smoker and I hate smoking . I got very upset and offended as they were sooooooooo rude and doggy . Terrible experience. The apartment was clean and nice looking in first eye but things not working properly. Lighting switched looked dimmable but worked only one and . Decoration was fantastic . View was very nice but I customer service was disgusting . I searched every where but couldn’t find a hair comb so I had to call by my own mobile ( internal phone was not connected ) and asked for comb which was delivered to the door and the guy who delivered the comb , pushed the door to come inside whiteout asking permission. I stoped him and got the comb . I was treated like a criminal or drug dealer I was so scared and offended . That’s a shame that the cal this terrible place as a 5 star hotel . I’m my opinion 2 star is the max rate . There is a ceramic bench in steam room which was completely useless and uncomfortable due to having sharp edge shower valves on your back which make it impossible to seat and lay back . However very luxury and clean looking and beautiful view on 8th floor. Ended up with $2000 charge and uncomfortable and scary experience. I am going to make a complaint about security people who came into my privacy for nonsense reason and left with no apology. I don’t understand this...

Rooms are dirty, parking is deceptive. On the website it said parking undercover is free, saying that if you get a ticket and go to check in with it, they validate and it’s free. Then as you drive into the main entrance and go to the car park with the huge sign that says “hotel guests,” then when you get to check in they tell you that’s “the wrong one” and it’s $25/night. Who else is parking overnight but mostly hotel guests? That’s very deceptive. We had to then get back to the car and tell the guy at the gate through intercom that we parked in the wrong place and luckily we weren’t charged! We then parked about 1 metre down the road where there’s tonnes of free parking, which is where I would have parked in the first place if the website wasn’t so misleading! Just the first of multiple inconveniences. I’ve travelled the world and never have I paid so much for so little! The rooms were dirty and old. Dust on the benches, bed head flaking off from wear and old age, mirrors dirty, floors filthy. After getting over the general dilapidation, you have no time to relax as the rooms are so noisy until after midnight. Being so close to the outside bar area and a thoroughfare from the casinò, there’s no soundproofing. Breakfast at the atrium was entirely our mistake because by now we should have known better about the quality of this place. However, as we were there for a friends wedding event, we met them for breakfast. Coffee was extra and was horrible!! I actually can’t believe that in a place like that, they can’t even get a decent barista! Vic park is just across the road with so many lovely cafes. Def recommend doing yourself a favour and heading anywhere else! I could go on, however let’s just end on- if you’re looking to treat yourself then leave the crown well enough alone! Normally $1009/night for the lux king room on a sat!! We thankfully got a corporate deal and still at $340/night, was an absolutely huge waste of money.

Your money would be better spent on luxury like the Ritz, which is actually in the heart of the city with access to the best restaurants and bars, not to mention the new and fancy rooms and pool. Rather than in the middle of nowhere with overpriced restaurants and horrible rooms. Crown, what...

This hotel is ridiculously overpriced. The rooms are way too expensive, breakfast is not included (that's an extra $40 thanks), and if you plan on doing anything other than sleep in your bed you better have your credit card handy. Most of the staff are helpful and friendly but they won't do anything for you without charging you for it.

We found out upon entering our room that there was a mixup with the booking and we didn't have enough beds to sleep all of us. When we raised this with reception we were very politely told "that is a you problem" and that set the tone for the entire stay.

The beds are tiny, comfortable enough for an average sized person, definitely not large enough to double up with someone because your booking was stuffed up. If you are a tall person I doubt you would even fit on them.

The rooms aren't particularly well sound proofed, every night we had noise coming from adjacent rooms, the hotel, and from the street outside (we stayed on the third floor).

The room was cleaned once during our three night stay.

The wifi is absolutely terrible.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to stay an additional night, at which point the room rate was immediately increased by a whopping 30%. When we queried the increase we were politely advised that was the rate take it or leave it. We were now paying $480 for a room without enough beds and without breakfast or any other inclusions.

On our third night in the hotel I was sitting on one of the guest couches texting some friends and watching videos on my phone (with my headphones in so I didn't disturb anyone passing by), at which point a staff member approached me and asked me who I was and what I was doing. I responded that I was a guest and I was sitting on the couch relaxing. I was told that another guest had complained that someone was sleeping on the couch and they were required to do a welfare check on me to see if I was ok...? The staff member was very polite, but the whole interaction was bizarre and a little insulting. I got the impression that they did not want me sitting on the couches that are provided for the guests to sit on.

Very long way from a 5 star hotel. I've stayed in far better hotels for half the price of staying here. Would...
