||Friendly and polite staff from reservation to check in. Although I think the terms of endearment such as "darling" should be kept for family and not used in a professional setting.|The first site we were sent to was far too small for us and it was not possible for us the unhitch our camper as the back of our car was in a ditch caused by water run off. We had to go back to reception and once the manager came down he saw the problem and moved us next door. Better in as far as we could unhitch but really unappealing. The wash off or clean out from the fire pit had washed through the front of the site and because it was raining we had to walk through ash and mud. Our cars carpet is now filthy. The fire pit was unused and full of trash, people were just dumping their beer cartons etc. there. This was right in front and to the side of our site. At the back of the site there was a dumping ground for garden refuge piled high and left to rot, 5 to 6 feet high and several sites long. A breeding ground for insects and probably rodents. The whole area has such a sad decaying feeling, needs a good clean up and maintenance done. |The management tried to park another trailer in the first spot, they also couldn't fit and thankfully they were found another site as they would have only been about 4 mtrs from our bed. The sites are so small and cramped. |There is an extensive permanent residence area. But the part looking down on us had a " shanty town look and feel" with a couple of male residents spending most of their time "spying " on the camping area. Definitely an uncomfortable feeling, so we made sure to lock up when not here. |The showers and toilets were mostly clean and the newer ones were quite spacious. |In general I felt it was overpriced for the rundown state it is in. And they charged us $1.00 per day for our dog. I have been caravaning for over 30 years and have never been charged separately for our dogs. It just feels petty and money hungry! |We spoke to several others staying here and their reactions were also that it didn't live up to it's description on the Website. Even the advertised restaurant was closed. |My advise is use this as an overnight stay if desperate, don't stay for days, there is better value for your dollars out there. ||||||||||||Friendly and polite staff from reservation to check in.    Read moreI stayed in this lovely park for two nights during my visit to Kuranda. First night I stayed in the budget lodge, second In the poolside room. The lodge is a quaint, wooden, mountain style building with a homely country home feel. It has a central communal open air area with couches, a tv, a full kitchen and communal fridges with shared bathrooms. Each room is private with a lockable door. A basic bed with your own crockery and cutlery provided. For $35 per night it has all you need for a modest and comfortable stay. All needs are met. Value is second to none đđ For those after more of a hotel holiday feel, the poolside cabin was lovely and also value for money. Fully self contained with a very cosy bed and bedding, table and chairs, a bar fridge, cooking and coffee facilities and a private bathroom. Complete with your private internal bathroom and a cute patio right by the pool. Still with that lovely homely feel. The property is owned by a beautiful down to earth couple who are very warm, welcoming and accommodating. For this I will certainly return. The property is a short way from town, so if you're on foot and relying on public transport you'll definitly need to scope that out, but with direction from a local I found a lovely little shortcut track through some scrub and along the old train line. Certainly not for those without an adventurous spirit, but for me, I found it romantic and very enjoyable. Heading back to Brisbane is bittersweet after my wonderful stay in kuranda rainforest accomodation. Thank you for your hospitality. You will see...
Read moreKuranda is a lovely place - not so the Kuranda Caravan Park. We had an unpowered site. For the size of our set up, this site should have been set aside for a small tent. Couldnât understand it when they knew the size of our van. Only just fitted onto the site with no room to spare. We were on a significantly sloping site. Tried to put our awning out but it ended up in the bushes that separated the sites. Couldnât sit outside as there was no room. The van was on a slope at the rear and a slope at the side. We slept with our heads downhill with extreme discomfort. The van was in a dangerous position on this site. Donât know how they could have done this to us and yet they took our money. Also, the dump point at the bottom of the hill stunk like you wouldnât believe and the surrounding area was muddy from the urine overflowing at the dump point. We couldnât get out of this park quick enough. In all fairness, we therefore have no reason to recommend this park as a...
