We spent around $600 on Woll cookware. With marketing like this, it seemed like a good purchase. The salesperson confirmed.
“After all, it’s what you’d expect when you represent the epitome of German design excellence. From the PFOA-free, non-stick surface created from genuine sapphires to the heat tolerance in excess of 450ºC (the highest in the world) and the unique ultra-comfortable detachable handle, Woll’s frypans, woks, and sauté pans not only delivers unbeatable durability, but also near-perfect searing capabilities and the convenience of withstanding your oven, your dishwasher, and your metal utensils.”
Within a couple of months the coating started to peel and we were uncomfortable using them anymore. When we brought them back to the store, the sales person told us that that shouldn’t happen and she’d get in touch with the rep. When my husband followed up he was told that we “abused” them. Naturally, he wanted to know what this means. We didn’t take a blowtorch to them or put them in a furnace.
Clearly, based on their marketing material they want the consumer to believe they are indestructible but obviously they have limits that are easily met with home use. While we’d like to think sales people would know this and bridge the gap between what manufacturer says and what the consumer might expect before a purchase is made, at the very least, we need to understand what went wrong so it doesn’t happen again. It’s incredibly troubling to send $600 worth of pans to the landfill after just a few months. But the sales person wouldn’t elaborate and kept insisting it was simply abuse and told my husband to take it up with management. My husband decided it was just easier to learn from expensive lesson and not shop there anymore. After months of hoarding the pans, we finally disposed of them which is why I decided to leave this review. Perhaps something can be done so less consumers have to do...
Read moreI love Bed Bath n Table and especially The Works but I was disappointed after I purchased 2 glass candle holders ($40 each) and one was broken. I went in and found 1 and so I asked if they had any more in stock as I couldn't see any more on display, and the store assistant said they had 2 more and went to have a look. She didn't seem to know what she was doing, I was confused about whether she was getting new ones or getting them from the floor stock. She couldn't find them and then told me to keep looking around the floor even though I couldn't find any. We ended up finding the last one tucked away next to some plants so I bought both of them. Once I got home I went to lift off the glass dome to place a candle on the wooden base but it wouldn't budge. Once I managed to lift it out I realised the glass was broken and the pieces had jammed the base. I don't doubt that despite the item being broken, they knew the breakage was unnoticeable and discreet enough that they'd get away with selling it anyway. Very shady and unprofessional. Poor customer service and poor quality items, very disappointing considering the prices of the products. I don't recommend buying anything Morgan & Finch, even their bed sheets. It's a shame because they have nice things but the quality of their products does not reflect the price. It was inconvenient but I did manage to get it exchanged at the Malvern...
Read moreWent to the store Christmas Eve. Encountered very rude staff, who gave attitude and were not helpful when I needed assistance.
Closing hours on Google was 1730. When we arrived at 1700, we could hear staff complaining about customers walking through the door. There were several customers still shopping, and I could overhear staff being openly rude to them.
I approached one employee who was behind a counter, who cut me off mid sentence several times when I was needing assistance about a particular product I was hoping to purchase for Christmas Day. She told me I had interrupted her counting money, and would not point me in the right direction for assistance and spoke to me with such disrespect. Disgusted, I walked away from her. Meanwhile, whilst I was finalising my purchase, another staff approached me explain that the doors shut at 1700 and to finalise my purchase. I apologised and said on Google the hours stated 1730 and the doors were still open. To which she replied, "I know but it's wrong". How was I to know?
At the counter, I explained to another employee how rude the woman had been to my partner and I when I approached her. She apologised, but could not care less, explaining that it's Christmas Eve, and that everybody wanted to go home. This was unacceptable.
I will not come back here. The staff are terrible and unhelpful, and clearly don't understand basic...
