I Love Dumplings - St Kilda — Restaurant in Melbourne

I’ve eaten here before and it’s always been average. This evening I ordered online. I arrived a little before the scheduled pick up time and my order was not yet ready so I said I would wait outside. While I was waiting, one of the kitchen staff arrived to start work he was so drunk he barely made it through the restaurant without falling over. Due to the window through to the kitchen, I could see that he undressed in the food preparation area and put on his work clothes then promptly sat on the floor for 5 minutes. People who arrived after me and ordered finally got sick of waiting and asked where their order was. They were sitting inside and were not notified of their order being ready. On their way out they advised to check for mine. Sure enough the order had been sitting on the counter for sometime. When at home we ate the dumplings but they tasted awful. Never again will I go to this place....

Incredibly rude if they make a mistake. No appropriate resolution could be made. Kept laughing over the phone and refused to help. Incredibly inappropriate customer service Edit: I wrote this review before trying the food and unfortunately it didn't get better. I didn't eat the pork buns but they are reported to be very "slimey" and not much flavour in the BBQ meat part. The duck packes were slimey too and the filling was really bad... Rice is okay. The chicken and cashews, the cashews taste kinda burnt, the vegetables are well cooked but also feel a little slimey... I don't get why everything is slimey... Most of the food remained uneaten but the rice due to its lack of slimeyness. I'm now questioning if I should have eaten the rice, why was it the only thing wasn't slimey... Hopefully there will not be another...

Love the interior of this restaurant. The staff were attentive and accommodating to have the tables joined together, as we had to sit outside due to having our family pet with us. The price is reasonable considering everything is cooked fresh. It didn't take long before we were being served with freshly cooked food! The dishes came with a generous amount. The sweet & sour fish was delicious! The presentation of the stir-fry scallops was pretty and the scallops were fresh! The only thing I wasn't a fan was the "kung pao" chicken. It doesn't taste authentic. The chicken was coated in batter. Think they deep fry it first with a layer of flour before the stir-fry process. It was greasy. I think it will be much nicer if they prepare it the traditional style hence I have...
