I recently had the pleasure of attending the Restaurant and Catering Awards Night for Excellence at Dolton House, Darling Island, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience!

From the moment we arrived, the ambience set the perfect tone for the evening. The venue is beautifully designed, offering a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere that made it ideal for such a prestigious event.

The food was nothing short of spectacular. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing exquisite flavours and presentation that delighted our taste buds. What truly stood out, however, was the friendly and attentive service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that all our needs were met, making us feel valued and well taken care of throughout the night. I attended an event last Friday and left my wallets and phone with the waiters and security guards as I helped them pack up after the event. I left to help store things in the car, and the security guards assured me that they'd leave my stuff in the corner. Although I understand that my belongings are my own responsibility, these people are still on duty AND I was helping them pack up after an event. Moreover- I initially was going to leave my belongings outside but the security guards insisted that it was safer inside the building. Upon arriving back, the contents on my friends wallet (phone and money) were not in her wallet. The security guard asked me to check my wallet, and low and behold, they were all there. My friend had not taken her money out all night (there was a bar tab, there was absolutely no reason to), so it's impossible that they would be in my wallet unless the security guard or waiter had gone through the bag. Moreover, the security guard suggested we check the other bag, leading me to believe that something was up. My wireless earphones were in my bag (Plantronics RPP $130), but, as my friend's phone and wallet were in my bag, these headphones were no longer in my bag.. I only realised this on the way home. I have contacted authorities who are looking into this, but I am thoroughly disappointed in DH's choice of staff. Overall, great event. Sad it came to such a scummy end. We had our wedding at Doltone House Darling Island on September 18 and couldn’t be happier with everything from our very first visit through to the big day. From the moment that Liam called after I enquired on the website, I knew we were going to have our wedding at a Doltone House venue. He was so welcoming, took us to each of the venues and we very quickly made the decision that Darling Island was the one. We ended up cancelling all other potential venue visits as we were so satisfied with what Doltone had to offer. Our event coordinator, Natasha, was amazing at finalising all the event details with us, keeping us on track in the final weeks before the day, and answering every question or request we had with a “yes” - no request was too difficult or unable to be met. On the night, Mimma looked after us so well, ensuring that all of our needs were met, and treating us and our bridal party like royalty.
