The reviews here on google are completely contrary to our experience with Infinity Glass.
Unfortunately, we are very dissatisfied with the end product, specifically due to a lack of the company’s ability to resolve problems of the installation, equitably.
Our Job consisted of 3 panels of glass balustrade and a shower screen. Not a big job but it was important from the get-go that it be aesthetically pleasing and panels visually balanced and symmetrical. This specific detail was communicated clearly to Brett when he came to measure up.
Like so many trades people, Brett was very personable with all our initial dealings and offered workable variations to our initial plans. The glass was installed as a balustrade to our staircase in our lounge dinning area and is very prominent to family and guest. A stainless-steel handrail was also fitted to the glass, similar to the pictures on this website. An improvement which was supposed to be a beautiful addition to our house, is best described as “somewhat dodgy” even to Blind Freddy. The more we see it the more we are irritated by the result.
Within the three balustrade panes of glass, there are two dividing openings between each. The final result was one of the opening is 22 mms consistently from top to bottom, whilst the other is 10 mm at the top and 12-15 mms at the base. Not good. This is adjacent the largest panel, infinity replaced twice and real issues with getting it to fit the space. Looking at the glass from any angle in our lounge room, anyone can see the obvious differences. The quoted price was $6600 in total and to repair the fault we were asked to pay a further $880 plus GST, being 20% more of the initial cost.
These guys lost money on this job, I get that! No fault of ours, We didn’t change anything or decide we wanted something different, it was because they had to refit/replace one of the panels in total three times, due to the glass being cut incorrectly or measured incorrectly. They said the glass cutters were getting it wrong. The 3rd attempt was fitted as best they could just before Christmas and remains unstable in the fixings and is still incorrectly sized. They have been back once to try to fix it, a day after I called but still it rattles when touched or cleaned.
WE will not be having them fix it, as communications have degenerated and are poor at best.
We are very unhappy with the end result. I attempted to meet these guys halfway financially to a solution, but they were not ready to budge at the cost to rectify the problems, as “it had been 10 weeks since the initial install”. I was stupid, I paid them immediately on invoice as instructed especially since it was just before Christmas and knowing how hard business has been in Covid. Looking at it now, a 10% deposit to initiate should be sufficient, not 50%. During my last phone call to Brett, I was told “you paid our bill” and “you were extremely happy” so that its! “You said you were happy!” As it was, once they got their money, they assumed that we were totally satisfied happy and even though they were still trying to rectify the final panel of glass.
For us there was no recourse being offered, even with being prepared to compromise on original instructions and plan.
I have never written a review like this, but as a consumer and home renovators you need to be aware of our experience. Now we are left having to find and pay someone else to fix a job that was relatively...
Read moreThank you to Brett and team for a great result! About a year ago I sought quotes for a replacement shower screen. The 3 quotes were comparable within a $100 or so of each other, but what set Infinity Glass apart was the attention to detail. Brett explained to me that the existing screen had some design concerns and that there was a better way to manage the door. This attention to detail continued at the time of installation when the installers explained some pre-work that I could do to get a solid result. The installation was seamless and they kindly fit around our schedule. I wanted to wait a year before writing a review, and 1 year later I can confidently say the shower screen is still superb. Thank you Brett and team and I will be using you again for future...
Read moreBrett is a true professional. I reached out to get a quote for a shower glass screen replacement and he had returned my call with details and options immediately. An expert in his field who runs a seamless business. I am thrilled with the result, the speediness from measure & quote, and to installation. The new frameless open glass screen looks 100% better than the 23 year old glass door. Cost effective, quality product and service and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Thanks Brett and team for making this such an easy and rewarding experience. I can't recommend you and Infinity Glass enough. Until...
