Great market, but the staff have a disgusting attitude.

I've held a few stalls here and every staff member I've ever spoken to has been so rude.

This past weekend was the worst.

It began with a rude voice note I got asking me to 'move my car from the loading zone IMMEDIATELY' it had been parked there for 10 minutes while we were unpacking our things for the day... and no body says 'please' they just jump straight to aggression.

I was also speaking with the markets organiser and he was SO rude. When you book a stall, they very clearly mention that there are clothes racks available to hire, I asked him where they were because they weren't where they usually are, and he told me they didn't have any that day. There was no prior notice that they wouldn't have clothes racks, he just told me to deal with it and that its my responsibility to oragnise it.. even though they say that they will have them?

He also explicitly said "well the markets aren't here to deliver customer service, that's not what we're here for."

My boyfriend was helping me out and had a broken leg, so he was sitting on a chair in our stall, the chair was maybe 10cm's out of the (poorly) marked stall area that we were assigned, and the woman walking through checking the stalls just storms up to us and yells "you need to move that chair immediately", again, no 'hey, could you please move the chair back a little so that is inside the line?" just straight aggression.

It's a shame because the markets themselves are great and the stall holders are all so lovely, but the staff ruin it - I spoke with a few stall holders that day that also complained heavily about the attitude of the staff - probably something to take into...

my friends and i have been hosting a stall at the markets for the past few years and have never had any problems. we had a stall a few weeks ago under the new management. i arrived at the markets at 6:30 to secure a place in line so that i could choose a good lot for the stall. i was fourth in line and was designated a good spot with high traffic. my friends arrived shortly after and we set everything up. what seemed like the manager of the stall approached us at around 8:15, telling us to move our stall over because we had “set up in the wrong spot”. we assured him this was our spot and we knew this as we had clarified with other staff prior. the manager made a big scene in front of everyone , telling us to move over. he refused to listen to anything we had to say and told us off for having already been set up and saying we should have waited until 8:30 (we were never told to wait until 8:30 and this was not on the website or in our booking confirmation. the majority of other stalls had also already set up). he was stubborn and would not listen to us, saying the other group got there first and we would have to move for them. i knew they had not got there first as i was fourth in line and would’ve seen them if they were in front of me. with less than 15 minutes before the markets opened , he forced us and other vendors to move down to accomodate to this one group of girls. he was rude and refused to negotiate or hear our side. we will not...

Glebe Markets has long been a beloved Saturday afternoon institution in Sydney, and our recent visit was a testament to its enduring charm. The atmosphere was electric, with a palpable buzz of creativity and community spirit.

As we wandered through the stalls, our ears were treated to the soulful sounds of acoustic soul roots music, perfectly capturing the laid-back, eclectic vibe of the market. The little stage on the lawn was the perfect setting for the stripped back live performance, which added a whole new layer of depth and atmosphere to the experience.

But the music was just one part of the appeal. The market itself is a treasure trove of unique finds, from vintage clothes and leather goods to rare vinyl and artisanal foods. Whether you're a seasoned crate-digger, a fashionista on the hunt for one-of-a-kind pieces, or simply someone who loves to soak up the atmosphere of a vibrant community, Glebe Markets has something for everyone.

And then, of course, there's the food. Oh, the glorious food! From gourmet treats to street food classics, the variety of delicious eats on offer is sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate.

All in all, our visit to Glebe Markets was a resounding success. With its winning combination of great music, unique shopping, and mouth-watering food, it's the perfect weekend hangout for anyone looking to experience the best of Sydney's inner-city...

Glebe Markets is one of Sydney’s most vibrant and eclectic weekend spots — a true treasure trove for anyone who loves unique finds and good vibes. Every Saturday, the market comes alive with an energetic mix of local artists, vintage collectors, and creative stallholders offering everything from retro clothing and handmade jewelry to vinyl records and quirky home décor. The atmosphere is fantastic — relaxed yet full of life. There’s always great music playing, and the scent of delicious street food drifts through the air, making it easy to spend hours wandering between stalls. The friendly vendors add to the charm, often happy to chat about their crafts or help you find a hidden gem. What really makes Glebe Markets special is the community feel — locals, tourists, and students all mingling together in the leafy school grounds. It’s a perfect place to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift, enjoy a snack on the grass, or simply soak in the creative, bohemian spirit of Glebe. Whether you’re a serious vintage hunter or just looking for a fun, laid-back Saturday outing, Glebe Markets never disappoints. It’s a must-visit Sydney experience that captures the heart of the city’s artistic soul. Can park at Broadway Shopping Centre for convenience.

Located in Glebe Public School Grounds on Derby Place, Glebe, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 These are a long running flea markets in the heart of Glebe. The are well known for vintage clothes, fantastic street food and the acoustic street entertainment are wonderful to sit and enjoy while having a bite to eat. The markets are reasonably easy to get to by public transport. I got the bus from Central Station. There are heaps of stalls with a fantastic selection from clothes (new and vintage) to arts and crafts to jewellery, second hand items and a lot more. There’s also a decent range of food stalls to choose from. There’s tables and chairs to sit at (though these can be occupied quickly due to the crowds) or you can sit on the grass. These markets are pretty popular so they get a very big crowd. They are held every Saturday from 10.00am to 4.00pm. The live music 🎶 helps promote a really relaxing, good atmosphere. It’s great to see all the artists showing their products. These are a real community based market. I loved them and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend 🥰. Thumbs Up! 👍👍👍
