1/5 is a very kind rating for the experience I had (but I wasn't able to give 0 or minus points….) Ok, I'll start with the only two positive…the wine (however we bought ourselves as it was BYO) and the steamed dim sum, they were good. Not great; had better, and it may have been because I was so starving that I would have eaten a door knob (and these were tastier than that alternative…). The positives end there. We walk in and idly wait to be greeted and seated on a friday night (despite there being 2 open tables). Once we were seated, it took 20mins for us to flag a waiter down to get our order taken (this should have been our first sign)…May I point out that the kitchen was quite busy (lots of chefs) and there were about 4 servers, so they were not understaffed by any means and the place was nearly full however, they if you're in the service industry, competently dealing with a dinner rush shouldn't really be out of the realms of possibility. We ordered a starter and 2 mains to split between my boyfriend and I. After about 15 minutes, our entree of steamed dim sum arrived (as mentioned previously). It then took a further HOUR for our mains to arrive after we had asked the wait staff what was going on. "Soon" they said, "it's coming shortly"….there was a couple who had arrived after us who had received their food and nearly finished by the time I had flagged down the staff to asked what the hell was going on. I should mention, I was going to a friend's gig so I did have places to be…and I thought "oh Thai is quick" - boy was I wrong.
I was fuming and annoyed and hungry and minutes away from storming out without paying; I gave them 5 more minutes….and then finally the hokkein noodle stir fry dish we ordered had arrived. I was really hoping the food would have been worth it….however the noodles were stale, flavourless and lacked any substance. The chicken was chewy and the whole thing was just too greasy. We then asked them to not even to bother with Duck Plum sauce dish we ordered but they said "oh well it's ready" so we just ate it cos we were starving however I can hardly call it edible. It was on the menu as "recommended"…but it is actually recommended to stay AWAY from. The whole dish was bland, the duck was fatty and meat was gamey. The sauce was just like slightly sweetened water and the mushrooms were so tough you could barely chew them and I actually choked on one.
We got up from our table with most of the food still on the plates and just ended up leaving disgruntled, unsatisfied and furious. They didn't charge us for the duck dish to apologies for the long wait and you could see they were getting flustered by my impatience and general fury so they were very apologetic. However for me, it was just too little too late. I'm going to call it the worst meal of my life…or at least the worst Thai meal of my life for sure.
I should have eaten that doorknob instead. AVOID...
Read moreWent here with very high hopes after reading reviews. Ordered lamb shank massaman curry for $26, the image on the menu shows two shanks however our plate came only with one. Asked the staff politely if there had been an error and was told the pricings have changed and instead they now put one large shank (it was a standard sized shank) and they have not changed the picture. When I said that it was a lot less food than the picture showed, the management then tried to suggest I buy more food when I had already ordered three courses (realistically 2 and half). We also ordered coconut water and it was packed full of sugar, my partner didn't touch hers and kindly returned it. When we went to pay the bill I realised we were being charged for the non-consumed coconut water and when I raised this with the waitress I was met with attitude instantly. Would never recommend...
Read moreApologies for the lack of photo as I wished I got to capture the realistic looks of the food itself. We came here really looking forward to the Thai sweet sticky rice with egg custard and unfortunately it was not like pictured at all and was a huge letdown. It was like eating coconut rice with egg on the side. Really wished I took a photo of the alternative you receive. The meal itself was decent and the service was okay. They took away our dishes for our (disappointing) dessert and left us with no serviettes. The restaurant space is fine but the suburb itself is loud and you will hear it as the windows are all open so you will hear all the sirens and honking as if you were on the street. Would recommend being seated closer inside or request for the...
