Whilst its an admirable project in an amazing location Sub Platypus disappoints. The biggest issue is the lack of vibrancy that people bring to a destination. There is no cafe, restaurant, bar or indeed any food/drink offerings on the site. There is a selection of businesses housed in the renovated buildings - the occupants behind closed doors. And great public toilets. The newly opened torpedo factory is a concrete and steel monolith that houses a car park and a concrete viewing platform - there's nothing else there. As a local I can go there anytime of the day and would be lucky to see anyone walking the route. Its such a shame that the proposal for revitalisation hasn't included a cafe/restaurant precinct.
