Absolute pleasure relaxing in this beautiful secluded office block but expect the security guard Amed to harass you every time asking the same stupid questions like do I have a permit or is this commercial and when you say no money exchanging hands and it's a friend for social he will ask again and again to appoint you just had enough and want to leave. The place is mostly a ghost with everyone too scared to even take a photo with a real camera . I often walk across the road with my vintage cameras to test them out with old black and white film and always get harassed by the same guy .

its really just a re-use of the site into some kind of work spaces, and a park by the water. good signs from milsons pt station, but once you arrive there is some kind of works sign at torpedo workshop on the street. I THINK you could go down the driveway there to reach the top of the site and then work your way down the stairs. park at the bottom with some memorabilia, then turn right along the water to reach the exit (north sydney ferry stop- closed for works). signs say cafe open, lol - its a caravan, probably only open when main crowds are around.

This place is so, so beautiful for early morning or evening (or maybe just anytime of the day) walks, exercising or simply spending time to gaze the sky and water. You can grab a coffee from Barista's lab on Sub Base Platypus itself or from The Flying Bear cafè in Milsons Park. Both of them taste good. Kids can enjoy swings and slides in Kesterton Park nearby. There are public toilets and car parking available. There are also barbeque arrangements available for group picnics. This place is dog/pet-friendly.

Whilst its an admirable project in an amazing location Sub Platypus disappoints. The biggest issue is the lack of vibrancy that people bring to a destination. There is no cafe, restaurant, bar or indeed any food/drink offerings on the site. There is a selection of businesses housed in the renovated buildings - the occupants behind closed doors. And great public toilets. The newly opened torpedo factory is a concrete and steel monolith that houses a car park and a concrete viewing platform - there's nothing else there. As a local I can go there anytime of the day and would be lucky to see anyone walking the route. Its such a shame that the proposal for revitalisation hasn't included a cafe/restaurant precinct. Public spaces need people otherwise what...

It's very pretty, lovely view over neutral bay, there is a small pop up cafe and the warehouses have been repurposed as offices and what I believe is a "school". The torpedo factory will be built upon and somewhat demolished next year and will be transformed into another park, there is a wheel chair accessible enterance but I would still suggest staying far away from the water's edge. Overall I love this little area, it's family friendly and pet friendly, it's got a park and pop up cafe as well as a great view and an elevator and boardwalk of which is...
