Pregnant ladies - AVOID this place like the plague - they are disrespectful, insulting and rude!!!!!

Being pregnant, I had called well in advance of our dinner to make sure my menu was changed so that I could eat a pregnancy safe meal. I spoke with Hayley Snell, the Sales & Events Manager, and she assured me my menu would be as per my request on the day of the dinner.

When we got to dinner, nothing came out for me to eat for at least 30 minutes after everyone else’s entrees came out.

I went and spoke to a short, Italian man who was co-ordinating the wait staff. I explained my situation to him. He said he had no idea what I was talking about, and suggested I order something from their menu - which was different from the set menu I had used to specified my dietary requirements previously.

I looked at the menu the Italian guy offered me, and there was not really anything I could eat that would be pregnancy safe. I explained this to him. He asked me why I couldn’t eat anything on the menu. Then this is what blew my mind - I told him again that as per my doctor’s advice I couldn’t eat the things on the menu. To this he exclaimed “So what if your doctor has said you can’t the food. Why can’t you eat it?!”

At this point I clearly felt insulted and totally disrespected as a pregnant person.

I told him that I wanted to speak with Hayley, the Sales & Events Manager, with whom I had spoken with well in advance of the dinner to make sure the menu would be ok. The Italian guy lied to my face, and told me Hayley wasn’t there.

It was much later, about 45minutes after all the entrees had arrived, and I still had nothing to eat, that I asked another wait staff for Hayley, and I was finally able to speak with Hayley. She reassured me that the chef knew about my dietary requirements and my food would be out “shortly”. It took another 20 minutes before I finally got an entree to eat. I had requested some bread with olive oil in the meantime, and had to ask 3 times again before I finally got some bread and olive oil!

My mains came out on time, but they messed up my dessert, and put cut fruit, which I had previously told Hayley I could not eat. When I told the wait staff this, they were annoyed with me. I finally got some pretty average dessert.

To anyone who is pregnant, avoid this place like the plague. They are rude and disrespectful, and clearly don’t give a damn about feeding a pregnant lady on time and safely. Had I known ahead of time, I would have never come to this terrible place!

And to that rude, unprofessional Italian man who mistreated me - get an education you idiot! You’re in hospitality, and it is your job to know and respect different dietary requirements...

The worst customer service ever We came in on Sunday afternoon for 3pm booking for my boyfriend’s birthday lunch. No staff to be seen at the entry, and a rude staff come and ask to sign in and then leaves 6 or more people at the front without even greeting them. ( if we are supposed to sign in ourselves, how about put some SIGNAGE out or something for us to know.!!!!!) After entering there was no one to seat us, even though the place was packed and plenty of staff No tables for 2 in the restaurant even though we had a booking. They said we could sit outside in the cafe underneath but was rudely interrupted by the cafe manager saying to the other staff “no, they can’t eat here the cafes closed” and then proceeds to grunt and moan and finally lets us eat in the cafe area. They were closing up meanwhile so many people over 10 are having drinks in the cafe. We sit down and we were given 2 drinks menus and not a food menu. Oh my god. And so I get up go back to the bar and get some food menus. The cafe manager came and took down the shade even though there was 2 groups of 5 or more people in the shade. I asked if he could put it up but he said no because of the wind. He was so rude and his attitude was terrible. I go upstairs and order drinks and our food and the same cafe manager interrupted again to ask for my name for the order and took over 20 minutes for my cocktail to arrive at the table so I have to go back up and ask for it AGAIN and they say oh somebody took it to the wrong table, and they make it again. So many staff just chatting and on their phone while a line of 6 people waiting to order at the bar. The food comes out oh but no cutlery with it of course. Overpriced garbage and didn’t even want to speak to the manager because I was so upset. My recommendation is to make both floors the same (restaurant) so people have more options to sit outside especially with the beautiful views.

Im so disappointed I chose this restaurant for my boyfriend’s...

Good view. And that's the only thing good about this place. The service was disgusting.

Check in was unattended without any signage. Had to wait ages before drawing the attention of the staff and then find a place to seat.

One specific employee made it pretty obvious to us that we weren't welcome there even though we had a booking for lunch. Even though a different waiter was seating us outside he came in and tried to stop us saying we are closing the downstairs area and no food will be served there. He later did allow us to sit downstairs only to tell his co worker loudly "have fun cleaning up, I am leaving." We order and sit down but then this employee comes back again and takes down the shade saying a wind is coming to our direction and he needs to take it down. However, the group sitting right next to us get to keep their shade on which only makes me question, why? I did definitely feel a sense of discrimination especially when that group of local people sitting next to us left, and the shade got taken down immediately after a group of tourists came and sat down in the exact same place. And again that specific employee cited the same reason, "a strong wind is coming." Then if so, why didn't you take it down 30 mins ago, when you took down ours??

I felt like that guy's every action was indirectly telling us leave, you are not welcome here.

Ordering was also difficult and they also forgot our order. Had to wait ages for below average overpriced food.

Horrible experience....

I booked at table for 12 (10 adults 2 kids) for Saturday lunch. I had previously been here for a work lunch 18 months ago and really enjoyed the ambience and food. Hence i was keen to be back. I cannot express how disappointed the lunch had been. Food was really poor and subpar even compared my local pub. Restaurant was only half full and i booked 3 weeks in advance. We ordered scallops for entree. It was normal. Then waited over 40 min for mains. Kitchen was too busy doing takeaways as i saw it. There were 5 fish and chips. All of them were dry and overcooked.  Crust was hard and fish  derived of moisture.  And thats not to mention how small the portion was . i thought they gave us kids meal. It was really really poor quality so much so that one of elders at the table could not finish it. We also ordered 3 fish of the day and i could overlook how small the piece of fish was if not fot the fact it  very overcooked and chewy. The rigatoni was very ordinary and toppped with some very dry and hard prosciutto. This is $34 for pasta that wasnt even freshly made Service for drinks was very slow  so it was just the nail in the  coffin here. I did appreciate the staff giving kids colouring in pencil. Manager on duty gave us the  generic answer of "ill give feedback to the kitchen". In summary mediocre pub food for top prices.  Never back again.

Firstly, I wanted to say the hospitality was lovely and courteous. The venue is in a good location - especially for a warm weather day, with a breeze nice. The decks furniture is dated, need to slather on some wood varnish. The inside bar area is getting close to dated. I have a feeling I was not the right clientele so I don’t think I should rate this anywhere but neutral. I think the food menu was closer to a pub/hotel bar offering. There was limited… options. I think maybe the pricing reflects the quality of the produce used? I am not sure as unfortunately I didn’t order, although I enjoyed my deck high table. Was thinking this to be more up market and tapas, lazy Prosecco kind of vibe, but it was more like a waterfront RSL, less the pokies. I would really recommend a management review, eg Ormeggio upmarket vibe or Boathouse casual? It’s too good location to let it go down like this. The floor staff deserve a little more excitement! :) Definitely will return if the menu changes.

This is a lovely restaurant with a kitchy boating/ nautical type of theme; think plastic hanging ferns and faux distressed tables. It's also got a bit of a minimalist and uncluttered feel about it. The food is fresh and simple. High quality ingredients ensure that all meals are delicious. The restaurant is part of the sailing club, so visitors need to sign in. They can get full on a weekend, so booking a table is a good idea. Prices are on the higher side, but not unusual for the area. Staff are helpful, but occasionally seem a little harried at times. Food can take a while when they have a full restaurant, so be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak periods.
