Innsbruck’s Hauptbahnhof is the city’s main hub, connecting regional and international trains, as well as local trams and buses. While it may not be as modern or large as stations in Vienna or Munich, it is functional, efficient, and has all the essential facilities for travelers.

The station features an underground walkway that connects all tracks, making transfers straightforward. For those traveling with heavy luggage, elevators are available, which adds to the station’s convenience.

Ticketing is simple, and for visitors moving around Innsbruck, the IVB mobile app is highly recommended. It allows you to quickly and easily purchase tram and bus tickets on the go, making local travel more seamless.

Overall, Innsbruck Central Station is well-suited to its role as a gateway to Tyrol, providing both international connections and easy access to the...

Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof (HBF) is a decent station connecting Austria with various parts of Europe. The design is simple and functional. To reach the platforms, you go down to level -1 and follow a single, straight corridor. From there, you can easily find your platform number and take the corresponding stairs or elevator directly up. The train station also has several food shops available.

Outside the station, directly in front of the entrance, you will find a bus and tram stop. You can use either mode of transport, depending on your route.

Install Application (IVB Tickets) to buy tickets online (bus/ tram)...

Posting this at Innsbruck station, but this is praise for the train journey from Graz! Best money I spent on my trip. The 5-hour ride offered non-stop, jaw-dropping views of the Austrian Alps. Absolutely stunning. The train was great too – clean, comfy, and not too crowded, even on a holiday. Such an enjoyable way to travel. Forget expensive scenic trains elsewhere; this offers incredible value. Totally worth it! I wasn't familiar with Austrian trains before, but wow, I'm a fan now. Highly recommend experiencing the mountains this way. If you're thinking about it, just do it! Hope this review helps inspire your travels.
