We made a few mistakes that evening — we were hungry, came with a child, and didn’t book a table in advance. Still, for a restaurant of this level, I don’t believe the way we were treated was acceptable.
We spent €141, which is not a small amount, yet we were seated in a tiny side room with five adult backpackers. It was unbearably hot, stuffy, and loud. Yes, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was fast and friendly — we truly enjoyed the cuisine and the staff’s attitude.
But imagine trying to enjoy a fine meal with good service in what feels like a sauna. The longer we stayed, the hotter it got. By the time dessert arrived, we were barely holding on. And when the waiter hinted for a tip at the end — it was almost funny given the circumstances.
A great kitchen deserves a better environment to be appreciated. Unfortunately, the discomfort overshadowed what could have been a...
Immer wieder gerne!
We visited Restaurant Sailer in Innsbruck for lunch today and managed to get a table in the beautiful, quiet garden, which is almost a hidden gem in Innsbruck. The atmosphere is a rare oasis in the city, perfect for a relaxed yet refined lunch.
The table setting with white tablecloths and cloth napkins was immaculate as always, complemented by a very dedicated, long-standing service team that was attentive, friendly, and professional. This clearly reflects the strong team culture and good management of the establishment.
The traditional beef soup with bread dumplings was excellent – clear, flavoursome, and perfectly prepared. The veal Wiener Schnitzel that followed was one of the best I’ve had in years: crispy on the outside with a beautifully souffléd coating, juicy and well-seasoned inside.
The meal was crowned by an outstanding apricot dumpling for dessert, which impressed both in flavour and craftsmanship.
Overall, there is absolutely nothing to criticise. If you are looking for high-level classic Austrian cuisine, this is the place to go. The price level is on the higher side but fully justified by the quality.
Conclusion: A place for everyone who wants to enjoy Austrian cuisine at its best. We will...

Immaculate restaurant setting with nice interior. The waiter serving us was super friendly and I wish we had got his name.
I got Veal Wiener Schnitzel Art while my companions got the pork. The Veal was exceptionally made with such effort, being very thin yet well crusted and juicy. The side pairing of potatoes was excellent, such smooth and buttery potatoes. The jam given was a match made in heaven for the veal, going so well with the saltiness and beefiness of the meat. Overall 10/10 Wiener Schnitzel experience. Such a shame we couldn’t get the Artic Char!
Will definitely...
