People weren’t kidding when they say the service at the restaurant sucks. We got there around 11:45AM to buy a guided tour set at 1:00PM, so we thought we could enjoy a nice lunch at the restaurant before the tour meet up set 10 mins before it starts. Placed our order in around 12PM and immediately got our beers and soup. We waited until 12:30PM and asked our waitress if our food was ready yet because we needed to go in 20 mins. She asked if we got our soup yet and we told her yes. She checked her device and said “someone didn’t tell the kitchen to cook/bring out the next course”. And we were like we need to go soon for our guided tour and the food still hasn’t been cooked yet?! You can’t be blaming someone else if you were the one in charge of our table.
We finally got our meals around 12:40PM and we had to tell the lady who sold us the tour tickets that we would be late for the meet up. We couldn’t even enjoy our meal and had to rush as we didn’t want to miss too much of our tour.
The waitress came to us when the food was ready and asked if we wanted to pay now so that we can leave right after we were done, we said yes and she had the audacity to even ask for a tip! She couldn’t even get our order to us on time and even tried to blame someone else for not putting our next course in, of course we weren’t interested in tipping her.
She left before we could even ask for the receipt, So we called her over to ask for it. She basically flicked the receipt at us with her nose in the air without even looking at us as if we were the ones in the wrong.
The only reason this is two stars is because the food was actually good, we just couldn’t enjoy it to the fullest. So...
Read moreWe visited the Brauwelt for drinks and dinner on a weekday evening as a group of 5 people. The food was good and the atmosphere pleasant, as it has been on my previous visits. Unfortunately, this time was overshadowed by an extremely disappointing interaction with our waiter.
When we asked to split the bill — a very common request in Austrian restaurants — he initially refused, saying it was not possible. When I explained that I knew it was and asked again, he reluctantly agreed but said he would need to serve all other tables before taking our payment. He then made an exaggerated circuit of the terrace, stopping briefly at a few tables where no one seemed in urgent need of service, before disappearing into the restaurant for around ten minutes.
When I asked another server if we could please pay, she spoke to him, but it took another five minutes for him to reappear. The whole exchange felt unnecessarily obstructive and discourteous.
I have dined at Stiegl Brauwelt many times and have never experienced anything like this. Sadly, I can’t help but feel that the treatment was linked to the fact that my friends are from South Asia. If this was the case, it is deeply disappointing and...
Read moreI've visited other brewery museums, but this one is the best. I didn't expect it to be so big and so well-made. The museum has several floors. There is a film hall in which a film tells about the history and production of #Stiegl beer, there are many digital points, there is a lot of history. We visited it without a guide and it was still very interesting. Great! First you go to BRAUSHOP and buy a ticket. If you have a Salzburgcard, the entrance is free. The entrance to the museum is at the cash register. With the ticket at the end of the museum, there is a bar and you pour yourself a beer. After the tour in BRAUSHOP, you taste one of their new beers, so it's a good idea to visit the museum at least 12:00. When buying the entrance ticket to the museum, you are given a coupon for a 10% discount on everything in the store. When you buy something, you also spin the wheel of fortune, where you are bound to win something. At the end, they even gave us a cider as a gift. A great experience....
