Restaurant IRODION — Restaurant in Salzburg

Outstanding Greek meal. I've never been to Greece (yet), but compared to Greek meals back in the States, this was clearly a level above.

We eat greek all the time back home, and here was our take on everything:

Greek Country Salad - I've never had this before in the States, it's so good that im going to start making it at the house with Tzaziki for a clean light lunch.

Tzaziki - Best we've ever had, no doubt about it

Squid - Best we've ever had

Lambchop - Best we've ever had

Chicken and Gyro meat - very very good

Fries - best we've had in Europe (Lets be honest, the USA is the undefeated reigning champs when it comes to artery clogging greasy food lol)

I'd recommend the meat platter #112 for 4 people, not 2. You could probably feed 6-8 people with it if you got an extra greek country salad and extra Tzaziki

VERY VERY good meal if you are trying to skip the carbs and you just want some clean veggies and meat.

10/10 meal. I can't think of another restaurant we've been to on the planet where 3 different dishes were the best we've ever tasted. If i lived here, i'd come at least...

Restaurant Irodion is a very spacious restaurant with backyards in both sides for seating, but unfortunately in the back that we seated it was dirty with spiders n dust. The service was poor as they basically served me the wrong plate and somehow was my fault that i didn’t highlight that i wanted the fish and not the meat Irodion plate and not the waiter’s fault for not confirming. Although I said the fish plater, n I was only referring to fish and I was even repeating German words from the plate in the menu. I can only yea he was absentminded. Anyway I said it’s ok n I will keep the wrong order though at no point he offered to replace it, and on the top of that the patty burger was half raw. The only good part was the desert which was on the house after the inconvenience but even for that they offered us coffee and when we said no need n we prefer something sweet they said not possible and at the end brought us one to share. Premetto che vivo a Salisburgo da qualche anno, avevo sempre sentito parlare bene di questo ristorante e visto che non avevo ancora cenato, ho proposto ad un mio caro amico una bella serata a base di pesce. Come siamo arrivati il cameriere ci ha accolto con educazione, all'inizio ci ha mostrato la sala diciamo principale carina, luminosa, quasi piena, ma poi ci ha indirizzato verso un'altra più appartata e buia, io gli ho detto che andava bene l'atra e ci siamo accomodati in quella che ci gradiva, ma è intervenuto il suo superiore, un altro ragazzino, che ci ha chiesto di spostarci perché eravamo solo due persone ed i tavoli erano da 4. Il bello è che ci hanno messo in una tavola rotonda apparecchiata per 4 ma che ne poteva contenere 6. La cosa mi ha irritato, ma non ho voluto fare polemiche, desideravo solo mangiare pesce e provare com'era questo ristorante greco di cui tanti parlano bene.Naturalmente non mi aspettavo chissà cosa, ma quando uno ordina una piatto di pesce per due (è scritto proprio così), mi aspetto un piatto di pesce per due non quello che ci hanno portato: al centro del piatto un bicchierino con una salsa (non so cosa fosse e manco voglio saperlo), di contorno due "trancetti" di pesce a testa, di quelli surgelati che trovi al supermercato, in Italia modello Findus, qui Igloo, ma che di pesce, a parte la forma, non avevano niente....erano aromatizzati al curry!!!! Cioè, del pesce che ancora non ho capito a se era merluzzo o quale altra specie, perché sapeva du curry...io ho ordinato un piatto di pesce, come da menu, e questi mi portano un pesce (se così si può definire) al curry!!! il tutto guarnito con due seppie ed un gambero a testa. Naturalmente hanno portato come antipasto una insalatina (già condita) su cui non ho nulla da obiettare e del riso. Ecco il riso emanava un odore di marcio, come di andato a male e naturalmente l'ho lasciato lì. Aggiungo che abbiamo ordinato un vino della casa a testa e naturalmente ci hanno portato 1/4 a testa, non 1/8. Non ho detto niente ed ho lasciato lì il secondo bicchiere. Non so se posso quantificare quanto abbiamo speso per questa indecenza, quindi evito. Il tutto è durato neanche venti minuti, che dire, servizio super rapido. L'unica cosa che salvo, per il resto una vergogna. Non lo considero neanche degno di portare la denominazione ristorante. Usciti da lì avevo ancora fame, nonostante il mio amico fosse contrario l'ho portato al ristorante italiano lì vicino che è sempre pieno, non so se posso fare il nome, quindi evito anche qui di rivelarlo; abbiamo ordinato un piatto di pesce misto e finalmente abbiamo mangiato come si deve ed a sazietà, pagando di meno, ma il vino era da 1/8 a testa. Cosa dire? MAI PIU', non mi vedranno mai più., perché sbagliare è umano,...
