Another reviewer stated they walked here from Paradise Island. Also found websites saying you can walk here as well as to Colonial Beach. While this is possible you have to go through private property and cross some rough rocky areas to get there. So leave your flip flops at home and put on your walking shoes. If you're staying at Atlantis or have a day pass start off walking west on Paradise beach. If not, follow Paradise Beach drive through the tunnel and then left alonh the parking lot. Go straight past it into the shipping yard beyond it. Hook a right all the way up to the beach, then left along the beach. If you choose to follow the dirt road like one website says to do you end up at a water treatment plant or something with a big do not enter sign. Past that is some kind of yoga retreat where they may look at you funny. The dirt road ends there anyway so you'll have to hit the beach regardless. Paradise Beach ends not long after the yoga retreat and you'll have to scramble over the rocks. The rocks are sharp so watch your step. You'll come to a wall that you can't scramble past. You should hopefully be able to go through the big gate to your left into some kind of camp with cabins. It was empty when I was there. Hang a right and another gate will get you back onto the rocks. Scramble the rest of the way to Colonial Beach, then it's an easy walk up the beach to the lighthouse. The lighthouse doorway was open and allowed access...
Read moreGreat off the beaten path place in the heart of Nassau! From The Reef at Atlantis, walk down the beach until you hit a rocky area - you’ll have to scramble over rocks for a ways, so good shoes are key. Scramble over the rocks to an area full of abandoned houses, and there’s a low green gate (or hop the low wall). Then follow a dirt path through the brush which will put you back on the beach. Total walk is about 2 miles each way but it’s slow going given the sharp rocks. Definitely do-able… I took my 6, 8, 11, and 13yo kids with me. The light house itself is open but be careful climbing up - some of the wooden flooring feels a little rotten. Great view of the cruise ships and Atlantis...
