I really wanted to like the space, but unfortunately, the lackluster service and poor attention to detail ruined the experience. We reserved an outdoor table for a birthday/anniversary occasion, and we sat inside.
Our server Giles could be described and smug, condescending, and unavailable. For a 7pm reservation, after telling him we were ready to order shortly after receiving our appetizers, it took him another 20-30 minutes to come back to take our dinner order.
My partner and I both ordered the surf and turf midrare. Mine was cooked perfectly, but hers was medium well if not well. Our server never asked us if we enjoyed any of our food, and his colleague was more attentive and apologetic for the overcooked meal. They placed wine glasses on the table, which I informed Giles I would be ordering wine with my steak. He then proceeded to remove the wine menu, and I told him I wanted a glass of Cab with my dinner several times. He then waited until after I finished my dinner to check in. I told him the wine was supposed to go with dinner, so there was no point.
As someone who's worked in the industry for 16 years, Giles can be summed up as someone who is more focused on sales and their own ego than creating positive guest experiences, he was incredibly slow, and unavailable for a restaurant that had maybe 5-6 tables total in the whole building. And he had other colleagues that were helping with the floor. He even made condescending comments calling my partner, "princess," multiple times when we were dining in.
The worst part of it all was that there was no acknowledgment of my partners birthday and our anniversary, and we we still charged $85 for a burnt filet and rubbery lobster. Nor did Giles ever apologize ONE TIME for anything.
I truly believe that if we had a different server, it would have created a better dining experience for us. However, based on our experience we had with Giles, we would not recommend the establishment or would want to return.
Additionally, Giles was so slow that our entire dining experience took 3.5 hours, which at max should've taken 1.5 hours, if our server was actually present, or if we had better service.
A party of 3 that was seated immediately before us already finished their meal and was ready to receive the bill before we even received our main course.
Be warned: if you decide to eat here, and Giles is your server, ask for a different server or be prepared to have a subpar...
Read moreThey seated us in the bar as we didn't make a reservation and it was packed on a Tuesday night, however that didn't affect the service. Samantha our server did a great job. They start you off with complimentary focacci bread served with olive oil and roasted garlic. The bread is amazing. Kudos to the pastry chef.. We started with the lobster bisque which was very aromatic but was lacking a little something to appeal to the flavor palate. Then came the panzanella, which came recommended by our server. I was very excited since I love panzanella. It was disappointing. It was a basic green salad with croutons, mine was missing the avocado that it stated in the menu. I ordered the center cut filet which was delicious. It has a beautiful demi glace and caramelized onions on top. It was cooked perfectly. My spouse order surf and turf. It was equally delicious. The lobster was served with a well executed brown butter. We finished the night with key lime pie. It is different then any key lime pie that I have had. It has a texture similar to that of pumpkin pie and a custard color that was surprising. The meringue was terrible grainy however the presentation was beautiful. Overall, I would come again in a heartbeat. It was a...
Read moreWe had a strange experience last night. Although the food was excellent, we had a waiter that told my parents to share the salad they were ordering instead of 2 salads because it was very big. Well, the salad was not that big really. The waiter came and grab the phone, started to film us, saying happy aniversary,. He was trying to be funny because it was no one’s aniversary. He looked in a mad rush, the food came, he forgot one order, asked to quickly give him the phone and filmed us again. We had our meall, reminding another waiter of the side order that was missed, and it came at the end when the meal was over but that was ok I guessed, they seemed to be running around. Then, I went to the restroom and when we came back there were two desserts on the table, the plates said Happy Aniversary, he came right away with the bill on his hand and told my husband to give him the phone, he told the couples in the table to kiss, took pictures as he gave us the bill and just like that our meal was over. Lol. No dessert menu, no chance to order what we wanted, no chance for a coffee or another drink. The end. It was crazy and strange how we got rushed out of there. I am never coming to this...
