As a nurse practitioner, I am always looking for quality massage work that will help my aches and pains while providing a relaxing experience. Unless quality work is done, a massage can cause pain rather than provide relief. Often, I’ve found that is not the high end spas or cruise ships that provide the best experiences, it is small gems like the Blue Zone.
While visiting Nassau on vacation, I booked a 90 min hot stone massage and 30 min reflexology. It was phenomenal!!! I didn’t have to fill out lengthy paperwork, Vanette instinctively found my trouble areas and worked on my back and shoulders until I melted into the table. Her reflexology skills showed the depth of her training as my aching feet found relief. There was nothing mechanical or scripted in her work but it was perfection. She showed great respect when finding tight areas. Some people prefer to attack knots, but I have found that this only causes me more pain as I will tighten against the massage. When the Vanette found them, she gently & tenderly worked on them till they chose to relax on their own.
If I had one wish, is that their location was quieter. The beach offered easy access from the cruise ship, but it was noisy at times from the nearby restaurant. However, if I have to choose between a great massage with some noise, or an overly hyped, poorly performed massage on the cruise ship…..I will gladly come here! This place is worthy of your time and money.

Read moreI found the Blue Zone and made an appt based on reviews here as we would be in port a particular day. First, the email communications were very prompt and answered all my questions. The day of, we also got an email confirmation. I dealt with Juliette (one of the shop owners ?). She was great to deal with. I also made reservations for 2 others and beach chair/umbrella rental.
We arrived and there were many people to help us on the beach. I think of this area as a co-op type place. Many businesses that all work together. We had a waitress named Chocolate who came and got our drinks (She explained she gets a commission and would take care of our needs with the businesses). Excellent idea and she took great care of us.
Next came the massages (we chose 90 minutes). There were 3 in my party. Juillette did explain that one of the massages would have to be outside on the deck. Not a problem. Who doesnt want the sound of the ocean while getting a massage! My massage, done by Juliette was AMAZING! I've had many massages in the past but this lady has magical hands and massaged muscles I didnt know needed attention. I felt fantastic afterwards. My 2 friends also had the same experience.
I would definitely recommend this place. Dont pass this up!
It was a 15 min walk from the cruise ship port or a 5 minute taxi ride...
Read moreThis was the best massage I've ever had in my life and I used to get massages on a monthly basis! If you're staying at a resort in the Bahamas and are considering using their spa services for a massage think again. You're going to get a much better price and massage by visiting Alicia and Vanette at Blue Zone. We stayed at Riu Palace for our honeymoon and they were wanting to charge us $200+ for a 20 minute massage a piece. Instead, we took a 15 minute taxi ride from Paradise Island to Blue Zone on Junkanoo Beach and it was a great decision! It is first come first serve, so we showed up at 9:45 a.m. and hung out on the beach until they opened at 10 a.m. Alicia and Vanette were incredibly professional and talented. We only had to pay $70 a piece (plus tip) for an hour massage. Plus the little house where you get the massages is adorable and the side of the house facing the beach is open, so you feel the cool sea breeze and can hear the waves while you're getting a massage. My husband and I even considered going back the next day to get another massage, because they were that fantastic. Plus their location on Junkanoo beach means you can even grab lunch at one of the local spots on the beach, shop for souvenirs and/or take a dip in the ocean afterwards. It's also within walking distance to the Fish Fry and...
