Had an 18 year old whiz kid accompany me to Canada Computers on Princess to help me build a decent rig. I myself had been there many times, but shopped the deals Black Friday and Boxing Day and they (CC) did offer some decent deals. Spent about $4,000 for a very decent rig, even with shopping the deals. The staff were very helpful as I filled my cart. As well they have an excellent tech shop. However the lower rating comes from the fact that after I spend my money, I took my rig home, set it up. Everything worked perfectly except for a single fan within the housing of the new tower I bought. Instead of dismantling my rig, I brought in the fan and they pretty much told me "too bad so sad", so I had half a mind to return the entire rig over a $20 fan... However I am not that petty. My 18 year old buddy luckily knew soldering, and we fixed it ourselves. So in short. Tech shop is good for what you need fixed. The store proper are adequate, offer decent deals, and will take your money. Don't expect anything more than that.

Shady business and fraudulent!!!!! I tried to bring back a CPU cooler that didn't come with all parts to only be told it was already returned. As everyone knows that you get a receipt when you return something and it's marked as returned. So I showed them the original recept and said there was no record of it being returned on original receipt and told them it must be a mistake. Unfortunately they still didn't repair or replace the missing part and told me I'm out of luck. I assume that they are returning items and pocketing the cash as a result of this I can't bring back a useless CPU cooler they sold me. I am reporting this to the IRS as this is fraud!!, I didn't return the item and when tried to they told me that I already did!!!!!!!!! I have added a photo of the original receipt to show it wasn't returned and is not marked as it was returned as all business are required to do.

Be weary of the service here, took my computer here for inquiry with a minor hinge issue and the guy started bending my computer this way and that with complete carelessness and lack of sensitivity. I could HEAR the cracking of parts within as he handled the device as if it was a toy. He ended up bending the side of the computer out of shape (the picture was of the lasting damages after I tried bending it back). Left the place with my computer still broken and heightened mental distress as I had all of my important documents on this laptop. If you have a minor issue with your laptop, be super cautious. I’m not a tech person but I believe that even minor problems should be handled with the same care and attention as more serious ones. This experience is saddening as I will never be able to trust technicians fully with any repairs again.

Only store in Kingston where you can drop $2000 and they will still charge you for a bag. Jokes aside, they’re inventory is great, reasonable prices, and for the most part, pretty good helpful staff. The reason I say for the most part that some of the staff can be very rude and disgruntled when you ask something of them. On one occasion I wanted to buy a mouse that was currently not on display, but in stock. An employee from the basement had to come upstairs to retrieve the mouse from their inventory which he seemed very irritated and reluctant to do. When he found the mouse he handed to me without even acknowledging me to which i thanked him and received a sigh and eyeroll in return. On another occasion I went in to upgrade my PC. I was looking at the variety of GPUS they offer when an employee working behind the desk asked if i needed help with anything, I responded stating that I was looking to upgrade my PC but i haven’t decided on what yet. The employee said nothing in response. Now I'm no expert in sales. But the customer service part of my brain would see that as an opportunity to ask the customer (me) questions like what specs are they are currently running, what their budget is, if they've done any research on potential parts they wanna buy, really just anything to help someone who’s unsure find something they will be happy with. I still found parts I liked without the employees help and promptly made a $2000 purchase. As i was leaving i looked around the store thanked everyone and told them to have a great day. What did i get in return?? Complete silence from all the employees behind the counter. I don't know if the people working here just lack social skills or they genuinely hate having to stop doing whatever it is they’re doing in the basement to actually help their customers but when i go to a place where spending large amounts of money is guaranteed, I atleast expect basic human manners. Also if you dont know exactly what you are talking about some of the employees seem to develop a superiority complex and talk to customers very condescendingly. I dont know his name, but there is a younger, shorter haired guy who can often be found in the back section of the store who is extremely polite and helpful. He helped me choose which parts would best fit my current setup and explained to me stuff i didnt know and helped me understand crucial things. If you plan on coming here and have no prior knowledge on computers then I would highly suggest...

Never ever going back!

In fact telling everyone I know if they ever go there I’ll never talk to them again. Horrible experience. Went in to get a computer for my 10 year old to do his homework on and play Mine Craft for X-mas. Spoke with an employee who advised he thought the laptop we selected would work but we could take it home and load Mine Craft on it and see if it worked and if it didn’t we could return in 14 days FULL REFUND. I sent a picture of the specs on the outside of the box (using my phone) to a friend who knows more than me and he said “don’t even try, it’s not the computer you want and would not suffice” . Box never opened, nothing taken out of any rappers or bags, not a single finger print on the computer; in other words walked back in the way I walked out. Go to refund… 5% fee. They said it was clearly stated in their return policy which they provide to no one at purchase, don’t put on the receipt, don’t hand to anyone or make reference to and in my case completely lie about as I was told I could bring back for a FULL REFUND. Where is this policy you asked… in the back customer service area on the wall so the customers coming BACK to return can clearly read it then… nice. My questioning of it was handled very poorly as well (i was clearly mad). So to sum up it cost me $20 to walk out and back in the store. All you X-mas shoppers should be aware of this do NOT buy gifts...

I will never use this business again. They are very rude snobs, and unhelpful. I bought a laptop somewhere else thankfully and planned on upgrading it and removing some junk programs. A guy told me over the phone they would remove them for free if I paid for the upgrading. When the day came they had no previous knowledge of the phone call and proceeded to tell me that it's a new laptop and doesn't have those programs on it, it does I have bought the same model previously. One employee will tell you one thing over the phone, and when you go in two different employees will tell you two different things at the same time. It took over 4 HOURS just to install a ram card in a laptop I bought! If I had a screwdriver, I could have done this myself in 5 minutes. The only reason I came in was to buy the card, get it installed, get alexa and some other stuff removed for free that they didn't even do. I wasted my entire day waiting to get a call from them saying the ram was installed. Came back in after 3 hours and inquired with 3 different rude or garbage attitude employees who wouldn't tell me anything that was going on. While I was waiting in the store, one of the employees was just following me around even though they have cameras everywhere. At least one of the workers was honest enough to tell me the tech guy was just talking on the phone and with some other customers...
