Stepping into this Indian restaurant is like entering a world of culinary delight and warm hospitality. The atmosphere is enchanting, perfect for a special celebration or hanging out with friends. The vibrant ambiance and friendly staff, including the owners, create an inviting setting that elevates the entire dining experience. Our server, possibly named Shefali, was exceptional - attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Her excellent service added a personal touch to our meal. We embarked on a flavorful journey, sampling a variety of dishes. The pani puri and pav bhaji were absolute standouts, bursting with authentic flavors. Every dish we tried was a winner, showcasing the kitchen's expertise in Indian cuisine. Oh Rasmalai and gulabjamun , so damn good and not too sweet which is a great combination Whether you're a connoisseur of Indian food or new to the cuisine, this restaurant promises a memorable experience. It's a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious food, warm service, and a delightful atmosphere. Don't miss this hidden gem!

We visited this restaurant in Aug 2024 based on some google reviews. We tried the Garlic naan, butter chicken, chicken tika masala and a mango lassie. The food: we love Indian food and we always try it in new areas when we are visiting. The food here was presented so nicely along with generous portions. The flavor was really good. Just be aware, their mild is probably many peoples medium-hot. We would absolutely return if there was a no hot spice option available as the mild was still way too hot for either us (and one of us enjoys the occasional spicy food) The atmosphere was nice, comfortable and welcoming. We loved the decor!!! The staff: The service was awesome. The people are super sweet and work hard to make your meal a pleasant experience. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good spicy Indian food. Also a bit on the pricey side as 2 of us with 1 drink was $75.

I got the Paneer Kalameeri and I specified the spice level mild but it was way more than that. I expected a balanced taste of cashews with black pepper but I didn’t taste any cashews. It looked like any other paneer dish with added black pepper. It had so much black pepper that I couldn’t taste anything else. Extremely bad taste, I had to throw the whole thing away. Tandoori roti was mid. Edit: After sharing my feedback, the restaurant reached out to me and offered a complimentary meal to make up for the experience. I tried the Paneer Lababdar this time, which was a definite improvement—flavourful and more enjoyable. The roti was still a bit mid, but I appreciated the gesture and the willingness to listen and improve. I’m keeping my original rating to reflect the full experience, but I do want to acknowledge the effort they made to make things right.

My experience at Daal Roti was a complete disaster. First off, they need to drop the "Premium" from their name because this place clearly doesn't deliver any kind of premium service. I went there on August 4th, and we were served a chicken piece with our vegetarian dish. When we pointed this out to one of the servers, she took the plates away and promised they'd be replaced. My friend and I are strict vegetarians, so this was a serious issue.

The manager, who was a mess, strolled around without washing his hands or dressing properly. He was sweating all over the place, which was utterly disgusting. After he kept walking by our table and ignoring us, I had to call him over. He downplayed the mistake as a "small issue" repeatedly while passing by and even through the kitchen door.

We could have made a big fuss when we found the chicken, but we decided not to because we discovered it before eating. Instead, we were met with rude behavior from the manager. Later, we found out he went off to Costco asking the server to make a drink with vodka, which seemed more important to him than apologizing to us. Not once did he show any remorse or empathy.

When we asked the servers for his name, they deflected, claiming he had family issues—making us feel guilty for pointing out his incompetence. Everyone has family issues, but not everyone goes out for vodka while dealing with them. The manager was wearing a green or blue shirt, had a round face, and a noticeable tummy. If you spot a rude person mistreating both staff and customers, that’s him. PLEASE DO TAG THE MANAGER NAME IF ANYONE KNOWS HIM.

They offered us a 10% discount for the trouble, but we refused it. We paid the full amount because while the food was okay, the behavior was unacceptable. I wouldn't have given any star if there was an option for...

The menu is a treasure of delightful surprises, especially with an impressive range of appetizers that cater to various tastes. Talk about indo-Chinese like Manchurian or chilli paneer or timeless chaat recipes like chaat-puri or dahi puri- which btw will blow your mind off, if you see how they present it.

Moving on to the main courses, the experience only gets better. Every dish is a masterpiece, leaving a lasting impression with its exquisite taste. The attention to detail in crafting each meal is evident and contributes to an exceptional dining experience. The presentation is even better, you can have the experience of dining in an high-profile restaurant by looking at the presentation of each dishes complemented by top-notch service. A sincere thank you to Daal-Roti Indian Tadka House for not only bringing authentic Indian flavours to Kingston but also saving us the trip to GTA for exceptional food. This establishment has undoubtedly earned its place as a local favourite, allowing us to relish the best of Indian cuisine without leaving our community. It's a true game-changer for Kingston's...

Most places here seem to have reviews calling the restaurants the "best" at whatever they make but this place actually is. You can smell how good the food is the second you walk in.

Spotless, I can't stress enough how clean this place is and how quick the staff are to tidy up. The staff are very nice and welcoming, it made the atmosphere very comfortable even as it filled up. Extremely attentive.

I get iffy about possibly eating watered down Westernized food..this is not that. Food was amazing and flavourful. I cut apart my meat with a spoon to give an idea of how tender it was. We had two different dishes, both different levels of heat and they nailed the spice levels. I got a more spicy dish, but the heat was perfect, not over powering the other ingredients or flavours.

They serve mocktails along with a regular drink menu, which were also great. Refreshing.

I went in with low expectations because I haven't found places in this area have really been meeting my standards or their review hype. Most places these days aren't even worth it but this place is...
