CF Market Mall is one of Calgary’s most well-rounded shopping centres—modern, clean, and surprisingly chill compared to some of the other big malls in the city. It’s the kind of place where you can shop, eat, and hang out without feeling overwhelmed or rushed.
Stores & Shopping Experience: There’s a solid mix of stores here—from popular big-name retailers like Hudson’s Bay, Sport Chek, and Apple, to smaller fashion boutiques and specialty shops. The mall layout is super easy to navigate, which I appreciate. I also noticed how bright and open the space is; even during busier hours, it doesn’t feel claustrophobic. Great natural lighting helps give it a more relaxed vibe than somewhere like Chinook Centre.
Food Options: The food court has improved a lot recently. It’s not massive, but it’s got all the essentials—A&W, New York Fries, Edo Japan, Opa!, and a few others. There are also stand-alone food spots like Starbucks and a nearby Tim Hortons, and if you’re into sushi or ramen, there are some decent choices just outside the mall entrance.
Atmosphere & Cleanliness: Big props to the cleaning and maintenance team—this mall is spotless. Even the washrooms are well-kept, which is honestly rare for a high-traffic place like this. There’s also quite a bit of seating around the mall if you just need a break or wanna chill while waiting for someone.
Parking & Accessibility: Parking is usually pretty smooth. Tons of space, and even when it's busy, you can find a spot if you're willing to walk a little. They’ve also got electric vehicle charging stations, which is a plus. Transit access is decent too, with a couple of bus routes that drop off right by the main entrance.
Other Notes: They’ve recently added some cool seasonal decorations and interactive displays, which gives the mall some character, especially around the holidays. It’s also surprisingly family-friendly—tons of strollers, kid-friendly spaces, and even a mini play area if I remember right.
Overall Rating: 4.5/5 It’s not the flashiest mall in Calgary, but CF Market Mall is reliable, clean, and just plain pleasant. Definitely a go-to if you want a relaxed shopping trip...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience with the customer service team at CF Market Mall. I went to purchase a gift card and wanted to use my payment method in multiple transactions in order to take advantage of a promotion. The staff refused and told me this was against their policy. I respectfully asked whether this was a verbal policy or one in writing. They insisted it was both.
When I asked to see the written policy, they agreed—but after searching, neither the staff nor the manager could produce any documentation stating that only one transaction is allowed per payment method for gift card purchases. At that point, instead of addressing the issue fairly, the staff pushed me to speak to the manager. When I explained the situation to the manager, I was shocked to be threatened that they “would refuse or don’t have to sell me the gift card.”
This treatment felt extremely unfair and unprofessional. I never used abusive language and only asked for clarity and fair treatment. Yet, rather than being transparent, the staff and manager responded with double standards and threats. It left me feeling disrespected and even discriminated against.
All I wanted was a simple, honest answer and fair service. Instead, I was met with hostility. I hope CF Market Mall management takes this complaint seriously and reviews how their staff treat customers. No customer should feel threatened or disrespected when simply asking for clarification on...
Read moreI have no words for this place. They used the pandemic as an opportunity to "renovate" the children's playground (literally only moving the entrance from one side to the other) and start charging admission to it. The only better thing is being turned away because they're "fully booked". There's like 10 kids in there but whatever. They said their next slot was in am hour and a half, as though anyone in their right mind would come back.
So I decided to take my kid to the theatre and play some video games. Surely they don't have any capacity requirements.. in fact they didn't have any games at all, in spite of there being AN ENORMOUS EMPTY ROOM that a hundred kids game's would fit into.
The crosswalks are atrocious. One has a handicapped ramp that leads a wheelchair to about 6 feet before the stop line. The "unmotivated" construction workers, were pretty busy standing there doing absolutely nothing in front of an entrance. Their presence justified a steel fence blocking off about half of one of the faces of the mall. It's really fun walking down the roadway alongside the mall with a 5 year old in tow, because I HAD NO OTHER OPTION. Here's the best part: the next closest entrance (because any reasonable person would want to get their child out of that hazardous situation ASAP) was a homesense which was completely blocked off from the rest of the mall.
If Marlborough mall had less junkies around it, it would list higher...
