This place is terrible and the security manager was the most arrogant nastiest person I have ever encountered! He was trying to tell me that my service dog is not a service animal ! She has been trained by our breeder, our personal friend who is a breeder as well and by myself from day one. I didn't have her vest on because it is a little too large for her and uncomfortable and we were only going out for 1 hour. I showed her service dog identification card. He asked if she is registered! Well of course she is otherwise I wouldn't b able to receive her ID. She is registered with the SPCA. And the card can be scanned and our information will show as such, my name, the handler and her name and the fact that she is a registered service dog. He didn't bother scanning her card and demanded to see her vest and scolded me saying I need to follow the rules! As long as I identify myself as a disabled person and show puppy's proper ID card then yes,I am following protocol. He said he trains service animals and my puppy is not one. Well if he bothered to scan her identification card correctly it wouldve proved that she is. I told him I would retrieve her vest out of the car, but, by this point my hubby was very upset with the way we were treated ( and had a few choice words for him) he also said to 'forget it we do not deserve to b treated like crap and have my service dog invalidated so rudely!' The security manager said fine "don't ever come back here again, have a nice night". Can you believe the treatment disabled patrons receive when they need the accompaniment of their service dog? He made us feel like we were a criminal. And the security fellow told us that we had to leave her carrying case ( house) at the desk! I told him that this is her house and she prefers to stay comfortable in it ( with the top open of course). Our puppy is trained to either stay on my lap or in her carrying case, yet the security guy persisted to tell me that the it has to be left at customer service. They are the most nastiest securitymanagers/security personnel that I have ever dealt with. The security manager definitely was very prejudice towards us and classified my service dog as just a 'pet', while holding her proper ID card, and stated "pets are not allowed inhere, and no she is not a service dog". Just because he trains a different breed of service dog, he needs to realize they come in many different sizes and can have more than one trainer. He displayed outright prejudicism, arrogance with a very nasty attitude . We will never be back, and if you have a service animal make sure you stay away from this terrible casino they do not deserve your patronage. Terrible evening which made my medical condition reach dangerous levels, ( they made my critical hypertensive condition raise up to 185/110). Thank you for endangering my health with your terrible attitude and behavior. They were like a pack of wolves the second we entered the place, I hope everyone stays away from them. As posted below I was 'following rules'. P.S. every service dog completes specifically taylored trained tasks for their owners, so for this manager to say 'that's not a service dog, I know because we train them," has no clue what costum duties my puppy can perform for me , nor did he ask or...
Read moreMy family has been coming to this Casino for about 10 plus years. We kept coming for decent food and a low price and good service from the staff. Over that 10 year period I have watched this place get worse and worse with how they treat staff and guests. The pandemic seems to have empowered them beyond belief. I have had a few altercations with the staff in the past over poor service but now, I’m not going back here. Gabby, a server there, has been one of the main reasons I kept returning. She is an absolute gem of a human, but not even Gabby can save you this time. We came in on Father’s Day weekend 2022, the Saturday, to have breakfast in honour of my father who passed away this year. He loved going to the casino, talking with the staff and playing some games after food from time to time. This was going to be a tradition, pop in to a place he loved to remember him. This place is off the list. I walked in the front door and was promptly stopped by an older man security guard. He tells me to check my backpack, I look at the various women around me carrying purses that are as big as my backpack and said “No I have expensive equipment in here” he said to go put it in my car. I said “again no due to the contents, I’m just here for breakfast” he refused to let us in. I called to speak to a manager and the lotto booth person who answered gave the phone to the security guard I was just dealing with, not a manager. He then screams at me “there is no manager, there is no manager, you get nothing”. I wait a bit and end up calling in to speak with the Games Manager on duty, this woman was equally as bad as the security guard. “We have had a policy for 40 years about backpacks. People could conceal things in backpacks!”… if that isn’t the dumbest excuse for an outdated policy that discriminates against one type of bag without a basis for doing so, I don’t know what is. People can conceal things in many places lady. Some purses are bigger than my backpack. We will never go back to this place. I have heard horror stories from the staff about how they are treated both mentally and physically. We will instead go to the local farmers market and support some local business owners that make way better food for the same price. If you’re in Calgary looking for a better place than this to eat, try the closest McDonalds or Wendys, or even something local. Don’t waste your time here and don’t spend your hard earned cash at a...
Read moreNever have I met a less professional "team" of front door staff. I went to a staff function there recently and was treated very poorly upon arriving. I was told that my pupils were large and that I was not coming in. I thought it was a joke at first to be honest. After attempting to reason with some very unreasonable people, I was told I would be removed forcefully if I didn't go. So I did. Then one of the two doormen proceeded to stand behind the door and point and laugh at me. Seriously I'm 34 years old just trying to play some cards with my coworkers on a regular day for christmas and I have this little punk tell me I'm on drugs and laugh at me. My fiance was inside already as she didn't have her ID and we both look young for our age. You know how these guys are about checking pretty girls ID's... but that's another issue. After telling her we have to go, she went to try to talk to them. I advised her against it as they were bullies, but she wasn't hearing any of that. Long story short, the bullies were unphased by her words and one of them followed her back to my truck and recorded our licence plate. Finally after all that uneeded embarrassment towards people who had merely tried to pleasantly frequent a public establishment, the man grabbed her phone from her as she was taking his picture, breaking off her nail in a pretty gruesome way. When I went to check his name tag, he tore it off his shirt very quickly and hid it in his pocket. Shady guys... this place is filled with thugs and run by losers and bullies. Stay away if you know what's good for you. There are plenty of hospitable casinos in Calgary for you to throw money at. These turds don't deserve...
