The first time I visited this store, I was looking specifically for Konjak Shirataki Noodles. I asked several staff members who were busy stocking shelves, but each one indicated he/she couldn't understand English. After about 10 minutes of searching, I finally found someone who said they understood English, and he pointed me in the right direction. I had been unable to find these noodles at any other local grocery store, so finding them at T & T was, overall, a big win.

Another unique item that you can find here is their variety of dried mushrooms packs, with ingredients like lions mane mushrooms, almond mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, straw mushrooms, Chestnut mushroom. These packs also include red dates and black fungus. Easy to pop into an organic broth and make into soup! I thought the prices for these mushroom packs were pretty good.

You can also find unique fruits and vegetables in the produce section.

On another note, for certain more common grocery items that I was looking for (eg, olive oil), prices were slightly higher than one can find for the exact same or equivalent product at the nearby grocery stores.

Other than going to T & T for Konjak Shirataki Noodles, I like to go for the hot Chinese food smorgasbord, aka Chinese food buffet. They don't always put out the same things every day, but one can usually find hot soups and various Chinese food restaurant dishes such as ginger beef and black bean dishes, tofu, etc. But all of these are "to go," and you pay for what you take, by weight. A good-sized bowl full of this hot and ready Chinese food will likely cost...

Terrible Service at Bistro Café – Would Not Recommend

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this experience was too unpleasant to ignore. We came to the Bistro Café inside T&T expecting a decent meal, but from the very beginning, things went wrong. There was no one at the entrance to welcome us, so we walked in on our own. Shortly after, a server came over and told us — rather coldly — to wait at the entrance.

Once we were finally seated, there was no greeting or smile. For a table of eight people, we were only given one menu to share, which made ordering slow and inconvenient. After 15 minutes of no service, we had to go to the front ourselves to place an order. Communication was difficult because the staff member barely spoke English.

There were promotional offers displayed on the table, but when we asked about them, we were told they didn’t apply anymore. Then why leave them there? We also didn’t get enough utensils and had to ask for them separately.

To top it all off, our final bill was much higher than expected. When I gave honest feedback about the poor service, the response was: “Then don’t come again.” I was stunned. That is not how customers should be treated — anywhere, but especially not in Canada. I left disappointed and won’t...

Stop in at this grocery store quite often when I am in Calgary. I really like the quality of products in the fish & seafood department as well as the freshly prepared meals that you can purchase near the checkout area. There are a quite a few items in the produce section, like durian and star fruit, that you seldom see in any other large grocery store chains. This location has a couple of Asian restaurants and small specialty shops within the confines of the store as does the sister outlet in the northeast of the city. We usually buy some fresh salmon and other frozen seafood products as well as the sushi platters and some dessert items. This is definitely the "go to" store in Calgary for Asian food products in general. I find that the prices here are very competitive and you can find some good sales on more of the bulk items. For example, I just picked up a 1.89 litre container of Kikkoman low sodium soy sauce for $12.95 which would have costed well over $20 for the same amount at Superstore. My one big issue here is that the parking here gets very congested in this area. Especially on the weekends, expect to be in time consuming lineups when you are looking for a spot to park and even the short drive to get back on to Heritage Drive can...

Finally an Asian supermarket in South Calgary! It has all the familiar items, large varieties of Asian vegetables, amazing seafood area, a huge assortment of snacks, dry goods, and also the amazing hot food and bakery areas. You can even get BBQ duck, Charsu and ssoy Chicken on the hot table just like the rotisserie hickens at Safeway! You'll also find kitchen tools and small appliances, which at the moment, have as good, and even better prices than Amazon. It was pretty busy, but the COVID protocols are on point. Line up to get in, marked lanes, temperature check and plenty of security. You may have to remind some people to follow the direction of flow in the aisles, as some shoppers clearly have either forgotten or actually not known about it. Just be polite. Carts and baskets are sanitized inside so don't grab any carts that are outside in the stalls. Checkouts were quick and plenty of plexiglass shields to protect everyone. Looks like there will be a Bubble tea shop opening up within soon. Parking isn't too bad, spots are a tad narrow so keep that in mind. Just glad to be able to get BBQ chicken, duck and Charsu, and frozen dim sum without the trek to Chinatown or the NE.
