We came for a dinner on Sunday night, 6.30 pm and the place was full, which, we thought, was a good sign. The waiter said we would have to wait about 30 min to be seated, which would be ok if it didn’t take like 50 min. But it was only a beginning of the wait for us. After finally getting a table and the water and the menu were brought to us, we had to wait another 20 min for the guy to return for us to make an order, another half an hour and the waiter brought the food only for one person out of 3. Another 10 min and the rest of it had arrived. And after that we were completely abandoned there at our table with the guy never checking on us again. The food was not too bad, except green papaya salad, which I expected to be fresh and juicy and had a bunch of hard papaya full of soy sauce and 4 little shrimps, which I could not eat. After we were done, we spent another 15 min trying to get the guy to attend to us and I had to almost yell for him to finally pay attention and come to us. We ask him for a bill and the boxes to take the rest of food with us. He brought just boxes and no bill. At this point we were desperate to just leave and ended up getting up and coming to the cash register to be able to pay and go. I said straight to the guy that I was not leaving him any tips because we felt ignored and his customer service sucked to which he apologized but didn’t...
Read moreI recently discovered a Thai restaurant not too far from home, and it turned out to be quite the experience. The environment was pleasant and inviting, the food was excellent, and the service, while acceptable, left room for improvement.
One particular service hiccup stood out: we asked if we could have normal sticky rice for the mango dessert. The server said they’d check with the chef but ended up placing the order without confirming back to us. While we did get the sticky rice we wanted, the lack of follow-up was a bit off-putting.
Now, onto the food—which was the star of the night! The lemongrass fish was a standout dish: crispy on the outside, perfectly juicy on the inside, and paired with a refreshingly balanced sauce. Absolutely no complaints there. The shrimp cakes were also a hit—crispy, flavorful, and satisfying.
The Tom Yum soup, while decent, didn’t quite reach the high standard set by the other dishes. It was average compared to other offerings in Vancouver, and I personally prefer it served a little hotter in temperature. The only real miss for me was the roti with curry dip. It was overly oily and didn’t quite match my expectations for the dish.
Overall, the food here is worth the trip, and despite the service quirk, I’d happily return for another round of their incredible...
Read moreCame here with our friends. Service was very slow. It took an hour before any of our appetizers even showed up. They forgot an item completely and when we asked we were told they are still working on it.. so we decided to cancel it as our mains had arrived.. but they brought it out so we decided to keep the item. Same thing with our mains, we ate the entire meal and one item was missing the whole time. At the end of our meal we told them to cancel that item since we had our dinner already. We were again told that they are working on it. The item did arrive but we were all done. They decided to give it to us on the house so we did try it for the sake of trying and it was already prepared. The food overall is very decent. We enjoyed most of the dishes that we ordered. However the service was a huge let down. No one came to even offer water or ask for drink order… when our items were forgotten or “being worked on” it would’ve been nice to have the communication rather than us always trying to get our servers attention and wondering what was going on. Again food was decent but we won’t be back because of just super super slow service and just not enough...
