It's quite often that I need to pickup different solvents for use as part of my academic research. One time I met a lab chemical seller here as it was convenient for the both of us. A member of the transit security team treated our exchange as though we were common criminals.

I tried explaining to him what I was working on regarding a strange stone a colleague of mine had acquired, as well as our current inabilities to determine its composition. I showed him the failed spectroscopy data. I also explained why we were unable to perform a Fourier transform infrared spec, but he refused to believe me. I'm ashamed to say I had to leave posthaste. I'm now steering clear of this station till my research into this stones constantly periodic magnetic flux is complete.

Columbia is the most outdated station on the SkyTrain network. It was not meant to be a transfer station; hence, it fulfills the role quite poorly. The atmosphere is dark, old, and smelly. Given that the station is located underground, it is often difficult to locate any of three exits/entrances for those unfamiliar with the area. The lack of up OR down escalators for platform 2 is just icing on the cake. The station does have a bit of charm for how old it looks and how loud the trains are when arriving/departing, but...
