the UPS store at 140 king street east (UPSK) is a multi-service facility, that provides shipping and office support services, for downtown hamilton residents and businesses, and anyone else who's in the area.
prices: as with anything, shop around for the best price and shipping service relative to your needs. UPS is not the cheapest service, however they are pretty dartboard bullseye accurate with delivery dates.
store staff: polite, relatively efficient. attendant was ok with me taking pictures outside, but not inside the store for this review, even after explaining myself, lol.
hours and access: UPSK has saturday service (10a-3p), no late hours during the week (9a-630p) and no sunday service.
the store is accessible by bus, walking, bicycle or car. there is free 30 min parking in front of the store, besides the hotel. there is room for 3 vehicles max at a time.
in case the free parking section is fully occupied, there is parking along catherine street and around the corner along main street. be mindful 👀 of rush hour parking restriction signs for the paid parking meters.
pro-tip: always call 📞 the store if you wish to pick up a package being held, after you get your yellow "attempted delivery card" from the driver. better to verify your package is actually at the store before wasting calories and gas to find out its not there.
the driver flipping the package from the truck to the store same-day or next, will vary by driver and his/her circumstances.
bottom line: i would recommend to others, and would continue to use this location for pick up and drop-off of...
Read moreJust visited this UPS Store today for the first time and was immediately greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I explained why I was there and he quickly remembered that I had talked to him on the phone about 15-20 minutes earlier. Then the lady came out and greeted me, she asked if I had a Return Label and I handed the return label and documents to her. She quickly prepared the package I brought in, attaching the return shipping label/documents, and carefully carried the narrow 40 inch long parcel to an area behind the counter awaiting pick-up by the driver for its return trip to the seller. The lady and the gentleman were most helpful to me in dealing with the problem I had with this package, so that it would be returned to the seller as soon as possible. These people were courteous and efficient in the performance of their respective jobs! So, I ask anyone who reads my commentary to; Always be polite and treat people in the same way you would want them to treat you, with respect, patience and understanding. Remember, when you think about it, you'll realize one unrelenting fact that; We are all members of the same race, the Human Race! Have a great...
Read moreI live down the street, can literally see this place from my window. On more than one occasion I've seen the driver drop off the packages where a "delivery attempt was made". The unattempted "attempted deliveries" are not the store fault but the next bit is an absolutely baffling display of laziness. I stop in a little later to collect my package that has an "attempted delivery".
I am first told the driver hasn't come, but then when I ask the manager says he's scanned everything that's come in today he says yes... Huh? One one occasion I could even see my package and they refused to give it to me... Without fail, shortly after the store closes I get a tracking notification saying it's ready to pick up. The thing is everytime I'm in there it's dead no one there...
If I were you I would suggest to avoid this location whenever possible unfortunately I am...
