We bought a Custom series Summit (with 40 jets) back in December 2022, so we've had about 3 months to test-run this baby. We've found it very therapeutic and we're definitely happy with our purchase. I'm probably sitting in it 5 out of every 7 days listening to a podcast or staring up at the stars. Everyone we dealt with at Arctic Spas was great - Vern and Salma were very knowledgeable and helpful in the store, Johnny and his crew ran the install to perfection, and Len went the extra mile to get our install done before the holiday season. Jamie also did a nice job on our electrical upgrade prior to install. As for the Summit - it's the perfect size for us. We've had 4 people in it, which fit no problem. Even 6 people would not feel terribly crowded. We're very happy with the Spa Boy system which automatically dials in the chlorine levels, so all we have to do is add a little pH balance and shock salts (Refresh) every now and then. These things make the chemical maintenance very simple and the salt water system means you don't have excessive chlorine odours. The filters have now captured a fair bit of stuff, so it may be time for us to replace those (which is also simple). If we have any complaints, I suppose it would be that the spa is not maintaining its connection to our wifi very well (this allows you to use the Spa Boy phone app to monitor your spa temp, chemistry, etc). But this could be a function of the relatively long distance to our modem/router. We'll likely buy a signal booster in hopes it will fix that. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Arctic Spas to friends or anyone else thinking about buying a hot tub. Tough to put a price tag on the therapeutic benefits and general enjoyment we...
Read moreShady Business Practices (Kelowna and Alberta owners) Oct 2020 Paid Arctic Spa $5000 down to hold the pricing if prices increased in 2021. April 28 2021 Emailed today and said we need to pay the NEW prices, which is $5,000 more. So they kept our $5000 deposit, made interest on it for 7 months and reengage on the reason we gave them the deposit in the first place. May 2021 They said we have to pay the higher prices or we will refund. We wouldn’t even want to deal with a company with ethics like this so said please refund with interest. What did we get? No interest. I will never, ever recommend these guys to ANYONE.
Kept our deposit for 7 months, they made some interest on it and then told us the hot tub we pre-ordered and paid the down payment on to HOLD THE PRICING will now be almost $5,000 more than last year and they would give our deposit back or we can pay the higher prices. What? We opted for a refund after many complaints and did we get any interest? Nope!!
Oct 21 ACTUAL EMAIL: Absolutely. The issue is to just get something in Arctic’s system - things are so volatile with supply issues, etc. We do $5k down (we cap credit card portion of payment at $5k), then balance due once spa is built and booked outbound from (Thorsby) Alberta factory to Kelowna next year. As mentioned, getting a deposit in before year’s end will ensure above pricing, projected to go up a minimum of 7% for 2021. Currently, lead time for a new custom order Ocean would have completion late January 2021. ...
Read moreI purchased the Arctic Spas Timberwolf 3 person tub for use at my lake house in the BC interior. Weather can dip to -30° so I needed something designed for this and I wanted a tub which is made in Canada. Arctic Spas seemed to tick all the boxes.....until I got it. It seems a few years back, some genius at the company found a way to slightly increase their profits by sourcing less expensive chinese-made pumps. One of my pumps failed within the first 10 months. Warranty covered the cost of replacement, but because I was so rural I was hit with a bill for over $400 for the technicians travel time. They are aware of the poor quality of these chinese pumps, but they continue to use them anyway. Worse even than that was that someone in their quality control seems to have been sleeping on the job when my tub was inspected, because they'd neglected to tighten the plastic unions. So after a few months of use....and of course in the middle of winter..... I was surprised to find the water level had dropped significantly. I went to look under my deck and discovered an ice fall was clinging to the underside. When I called to complain about the issue I was reprimanded, then hung-up on for merely suggesting that someone ought to have a talk with the apprentices in the quality control department. I paid over $13K to buy the Arctic Spa and I expected at least the basics in quality. I was left extremely...
