97 Street Pub — Restaurant in Kelowna

Newly updated from this past Super Bowl, Feb 9/2025...

I choose 97 this time and reserved as last yr at BP's Dilworth it was just awful! So poorly organized and poorly run last yr and with a lack of servers in place. Prizes so weak too! Why even mention prizes then?

At 97 last Sun Feb 9 I got a lack of service by (S) and I even was charged an extra beer and I think to see if I would even notice! Best guess on that but it just seemed so. I had to flag her over a few times to order stuff and the older couple beside me were tended to regularly which was weird! Guess she does not like me and I think she has sided personally with my step mom as she knows her and she knows me! Personal stuff should be left out of business! Maybe my step mom said stuff to her and maybe my step mom was the one who did not keep in touch with me and I did all the keeping in touch and maybe I was shafted on thoughtful gifts ever for bday or Christmas Maybe this was the deciding factor for me to give up. I always got my step mom thoughtful stuff! But that should not have concerned S who was just to be my server, yes?, right? Felt so weird and prevented me from enjoying the game as much as I should have. This review is necessary and I did not want to even do it but honesty wins and I dislike two faced servers!

I will not be going back now sadly to report. Food still gets a 5 here but I should have put service at 1 but am not that mean, (just honest!)

Newest review in, (Sept 24/23)... The old manager must be out as there is just more liveliness in the place overall! Still 5 stars but the old manager was quite TIGHT!

New new review today and still 5 stars... Best music played in Kelowna! Got to enjoy many faves such as Bad Bad Leroy Brown and some Doobie Brothers! Mar 7th/22 THANKS! Good food as usual too and good prices!

Newly newly updated... 5 stars today!!! (Dec 8/21)... Spot on service tonight! Excellent food tonight! Music was best ever and unlike any other pub ever in past 10/11 years! Was bang on excellent with so many great songs played! I take extra special attention to this aspect! You nailed it, thanks! I never ever can say this typically! Especially for a full 2 hr stretch being somewhere. The GM, (if he can just learn to engage and just smile), will bring their ranking up to a 6 out of 5!, no kidding. I just cannot understand this still and it is not just him to blame here in Kelowna but so many in Kelowna cannot simply engage and cannot just smile! I do notice these things, mask on or not! I do see things and notice things more than others I guess as some other frequently visited guests tried to engage with him and just nothing back their way! But other than that...97 St Pub moved up tonight to a top notch place to visit. Right up there with Tonics and Central and Company and Train Stn.

But still an accommodating place when any troubles and we had some the other week. This has become a go to place for us as we now live super close by.

Look forward to hopefully being there this Sat for UFC action as I tried to make a reservation tonite. (:

Nice improvement! It had been many many months since I ventured back in and glad I did yesterday. Service was mediocre in past so I did not hustle back. Some may not like the new mini carnival atmosphere inside but I do. There's now bubble hockey, darts, foosball, skeeball and a pool table which was open and free last night. I went for the music trivia I saw on sign which was cancelled due to lack of sign ups but enjoyed the very massive tv in high def and the Olympic coverage with sound on. Maybe if that dj had a much bigger sound system more patrons would be interested in the trivia. Ordered the pecan strawberry salad and was quite good and beer special was a nice offer too. Will be back but probably not for the music trivia...

TERRIBLE!!! The service was obliviously bad (I don't think our main waitress has ever even eaten in a restaurant, let alone been trained to work in one - she didn't know the specials, didn't know which wines they had in stock, and is clearly a shy person who can't communicate well with customers and doesn't belong in a service industry position... the second waitress helping our table was also spaced-out and barely better) - wine wasn't served properly, just plopped on the table with bottle closed and left there; appetizers were delivered and left with no napkins, utensils or side plates; main food was ordered incorrectly (server's mistake as I heard it being requested properly but the waitress didn't listen); food quality was worthy of the grocery store freezer section if I'm being generous (especially the flatbreads and fries - both were terrible), BOTH bills at our table were incorrect; and finally a bag requested to take home leftover wine in the bottle wasn't brought so I had to go up to the bar and ask for one... Everything was awful here - it's a shabby old sports bar with low-quality food and terrible untrained servers (at least the ones we had tonight, August 2, 2022). This was my first and...

We were in Kelowna…for four nights… The first three nights every time we called the pub Jaymee would recommend one of her favourites and someone would deliver it to our room at the best Western. The chicken tacos are to die for !!…the nachos are amazing.. and the spicy chicken wraps were great!! we had the chicken tacos two days in a row because they were so delicious!! The food was always delivered fast and tasty !… On the fourth night, we had a problem with our order. ..(obviously we had been pleased with the food or we wouldn’t have been ordering again on the fourth night) so when the problem occurred we called back to the pub and the waitress on the phone said: “we will fix the problem and we will not charge you for the food”.. we said: ‘it’s not that big of a problem and we would be happy to pay for half!’…the waitress said: “give me a moment”…a few seconds later the manager was on the phone! He told us that he would take care of the problem personally and he completely redid our order! The food was fabulous !…four nights in a row this is true five...
