Cinémathèque québécoise — Attraction in Montreal

Cinémathèque québécoise provides excellent film programming, most of which could be characterized as art house, international, and classics.

The screen is not huge, but fairly big. The seats are comfortable, but they are not on a terribly steep incline, so you have to pick your seat based on who's in front of you to avoid having your view of the screen blocked. This is very important since many of the films shown here are subtitled and if you are trying to look over the top of somebody's head, you might not be able to see the subtitles.

And since many of the films are in foreign languages, one does have to pay attention to whether the subtitles will be in French or English if you only understand one of those languages.

There are no snacks or food allowed in, but this doesn't bother me.

Well the place is okay. But when I arrived there leaving 10min to the movie I was so confused because a woman sitting at the information desk said I can't buy the ticket there. She explained me where I can buy on the corner of the street but as a tourist I couldn't find it right away. And when I came back and asked again she was just pointing the direction with the finger saying same thing. It was confusing because there were to box offices on the street. I had to wait in the queue at the wrong one and when I found the right one the staff said it's weird that she told me the place(te headquarter) because I can normally buy the ticket at...

Im gonna sound rude but like No concession stands and get scolded for bringing in a snack for a 2 hour long movie is not hospitable and definitely not accommodating and i should give this more than one star cause they have good movies there it pissed me off to no end that i literally refused to go back to what was once my fave theatre in the city but now can’t even look at it straight in the eyes without seeing “no fun allowed” written all over it Also name...
