Awful customer service! My last few unpleasant experiences has been with an employee named Helen. Sheās extremely rude and gives you a hard time for no reason. Iām a part of their VIB program which means Iāve spent $1000+ and to be honest Iāve hesitated to buy anything lately due to my many unpleasant encounters here.
Many months back I was asking about a splash mask and she had me try it on my hand and I kindly asked for her to make me up a sample because letās be honest it feels good on my hand but itās meant for my face so Iād like to try it out at home. She snapped at me and said āwe have no sample containers to put it in as I said!ā I informed her that I didnāt know that and she never told me that to begin with. She said just buy it and if you donāt like it return it. I told her I was just trying to eliminate waste of product and time ... I let that go at the time.
After that I had to return an clarisonic I had bought for my Mom as a Xmas gift. I know that she barely used it and it just stopped charging. I know with that you have a good solid year to return the item and I called in advance and spoke to an employee explaining the situation and she asked a manager and informed me no problem come on in. I had the box and everything was in good condition since it was barely used. To my dismay Helen was who I had to deal with regarding this return. She recognized me from before because I said hello first and began drilling me about how they canāt take it back. I informed her that I just called an hour before I came in. She kept asking who I spoke to and I said it slipped my mind her name starts with and R and it sounds like a name Iāve heard before but Iām sorry I just canāt remember. She said no one was working that starts with an R. I asked her to please speak to a manager that handled the call with that employee because they gave the approval... she didnāt she just kept doubting that I even called the store. I said hereās my cell and phone log you can clearly see the time I called you guys. She grabbed my phone looked puzzled and said that she doesnāt even know the store number.This went on for a good solid 15 mins I asked her again very calmly to please speak to a manager she finally did and came back and said oh you spoke to Rihanna... Then she started going on about how she has had one for a long time and she canāt understand how this one is not working and being very rude about it like Iām doing something wrong or lying. I told her to and try to charge it if she didnāt believe me and I said you know not everything is perfect there are lemons too. She was making me very uncomfortable because people were cashing in and out next to me and I kept getting glances as if I was doing something wrong. Then I even informed her I tried pulling it in different outlets and it was still not charging she asked me if I was sure. At this point I was struggling to pull up the email receipt and had the order summary and I asked her with my membership she call recall the receipt on their system and she took forever saying she couldnāt find it! I even gave her the order date... nope. After another 15 minutes she finally found it and said oh I donāt know why that happened. No apologies or nothing for wasting my time and being rude she finally did the return. This took well over 30 mins. Totally unacceptable. Recently I went in again to meet up with my future sister in law to help her and my brother find bridal makeup for her and skin care products for them both. I got there a little earlier and again there is Helen with a clipboard and I said hello and she looked me in the eye and didnāt greet me back. Didnāt ask if I needed any help. I found that she kept following me around the store and speaking into her little mic and this made me uncomfortable. This happend about 4-5 times and each time I made eye contact and again she fails to greet me or ask for help. Normally Iām completely satisfied with my experience but a couple times I have gone into the store I have had the awful experience with this one older lady. Iām not sure her name but it saw quickly and might have been Aurora or something with an A. I went in once to buy Christmas presents and was trying to find a face cream but wasnāt able to find it, as I walked up to her she saw me turned around and walked the other way. I continue to follow her and said excuse me do you have āblah productā where she said no bluntly and walked away. I found the product and purchased. Another time my mom went in and once again she walked up to her and asked her where this product was again we donāt sell that. And walked away. Then just this week me and my friend went into the store but basically at this point I honestly boycott it all together cause if I canāt find anything I wonāt ask at this point. She was trying to find a lip treatment and not sure the name she explained the product to the same lady she said we donāt carry anything like that so she said can you recommend anything similar and she said I have no idea what your talking about we donāt have anything like that. My friend said well my friend got this product from here so I know itās here and the lady said she didnāt get it from this store then. I walked away because I honestly canāt stand this ladyās attitude so after my friend came back over to me she said I canāt believe how that lady acts itās so strange and rude. She finally ended up looking for it herself and the lady came back over and said this is all we have so you wonāt find what your looking for her where my friend said I found it and showed her lol. Then the lady said maybe you should be more clear on what your looking for and walked away. I then saw a lady come up to her and ask for help and she didnāt even look her in her face and said no Iām busy and walked away to stand by the skin care products...
I work in customer service and I totally understand workers have there bad days no ones perfect and customers can be annoying but everyday she is rude and doesnāt ever want to help anyone. Iām not sure why she even works there as it is a very hands on store with the customers. There seems to be several reports of unacceptable customer service experience on the reviews for this store so maybe someone higher up needs to step in and review the store for potential damaging employees. I have no complaints with any of the other girls there, there all nice and extremely helpful even when I donāt even ask for help I must just look confused theyāll come over and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally shop at the Sephora locations in Toronto but ever since I moved to Durham Region I started coming to this location. My experience here has been terrible. All the reviews about this location speaks for itself. The staff are terrible. No one wants to help you. If you manage to get someone to help they sure aren't so happy about it. During my last visit I waited until they found someone to "help" me. I told the consultant I was looking for foundation, she clearly had no knowledge about any of the products. She did not even know anything about the Sephora brand itself. Despite not knowing anything she continuously left me and wandered off numerous times. Instead of helping me try on foundation she made me do it myself, then she walked off while I was in the middle of trying it on. I then asked for further help with other products but she just walked off. I ended up asking for someone else to help me as the associate who was assigned to help me walked off!!! Thankfully a more kinder and knowledgeable associate helped me (the reason why I did not give this place a single star) complete my shopping. While the new associate was helping me the old associate that walked off on me tried to chat with the person helping me! What the heck! She was whispering to the person helping me. I honestly don't understand what her problem was or why she was behaving that way. I finished my shopping and left very VERY upset. I feel like this location does have good employees but they are numerous terrible employees that make people want to avoid the place. This is NOT the first time something like this has happened at this location hence this is why I am very upset. There was no manager on sight, normally at other Sephora locations there are managers who are super nice and approachable but I did not find one at this location. This location is not even as busy as the Sephora at Scarborough. I find it very appalling that despite less traffic at this location it is more chaotic and unorganized. It wasn't like I was sampling products without buying it. I am a VIB rouge I spends hundreds of dollars each year at Sephora, only to get treated like this! I will avoid this location...
