My friends and I were staying in Whitby and decided to give Trapped in this city a try We've gone to Trapped in the past in Markham and Mississauga. We have had good experiences with before and wanted to give this location a try. The room we chose was Carnival and the experience was great overall. We used three hints and won right on time within the hour. Our host was Krish and he was very helpful, clear and friendly. Bathrooms were very clean. I appreciate this as staff take cleanliness seriously. Parking is in a shared plaza. I definitely recommend giving this location a try, more so Carnival, but ask for Krish as your host. I'm unsure of how other staff are as I understand based on some previous reviews, that can make a big impact on your game. They also provide you with a beverage of your game. I've never been given a free drink at any other Trapped. This was a nice touch to the end of the game. Thank you again Krish!

A group of 4 of us completed Scarlet’s Whisper and had a lot of fun. The puzzles were challenging, in a good way! Bilin- the gentleman that hosted our game was very friendly and accommodating as one of our group members had a broken ankle. Can’t wait to come back!

Bilin was an amazing guide, he was the best, very patient and helpful. My friends and I did the “Scarets whisper” room which was a very fun experience thanks to Bilin. Trapped is very fun, I recommend it.

We attended Trapped Oshawa for the first time two weeks ago.

First off, Alvin the host was fantastic! Very nice, welcoming and no issues at all with customer service!

As for the games themselves we had major issues and concerns.

The first game “Hotel Dystopia” was very good. We enjoyed that minus a few puzzles that weren’t greatly executed.

As for the second room (Circus theme) it was an awful experience. The room itself was really nice and it started great!

Unfortunately as we progressed, multiple things weren’t set properly or broken which made it IMPOSSIBLE to even have a chance at getting out.

Our team was stuck at the mid point of the game with inevitably no hope of moving forward as the puzzle wasn’t reset and was 100% not possible to solve in that state.

Even if it was set correctly we asked how many people solve that without a hint? We were told nobody aka 0%.

Alvin showed us how the game should end at the final puzzle and it did not operate even when Alvin tried to show us. The puzzle was broken and he was even confused as to why the puzzle wouldn’t operate.

There was MULTPILE issues with this game. We paid fully expecting this would be a good experience. We have played over 100 escape rooms in Canada and the USA, and are truly disappointed in this.

We were offered 25% off the Scarlett room next time but why would we return when these issues were this bad? This room is also significantly more expensive.

I want to make it clear that I NEVER had intentions to leave a bad review. I’m only now leaving this as the owners responded to my email and essentially brushed me off.

I want this business to be successful as we love escape games but things majorly need to change for them to be successful and have long term success. This was just very disappointing and we didn’t get an experience we paid for.

I really hope the owners take this seriously and show some form of care toward their patrons. There are many other incredible Escape venues in the GTA and I felt the public should be aware of...

We recently did the carnival-themed escape room and, unfortunately, left feeling a bit disappointed. Before starting, we weren’t informed that several of the puzzles in the final section of the room were not functioning properly and had been disabled. Because of this, we spent over 20 minutes trying to solve puzzles that were essentially unsolvable. Eventually, a staff member came to the door and handed us a box that I assume would normally have been revealed had the puzzles worked as intended.

While the staff member did check in over the walkie-talkie to ask if we were at a certain part, it wasn’t until much later that he came in and gave us what we needed to move forward. We still managed to solve the working puzzles and escape in time, but it felt like we lost a big chunk of our experience to broken elements. Honestly, had the room been fully operational, we probably could have escaped in about half the time.

Overall, I think guests should be told ahead of time if puzzles are disabled, or better yet, the room should be taken off the schedule until everything is functioning. At the very least, a discount or acknowledgement would have felt fair. As it stood, the experience just didn’t feel...

Disappointed First-Time Experience

This was our very first escape room experience for my girlfriend and me, and unfortunately, it didn’t go as expected. We were recommended to try the Carnival room since it’s designed for beginners and works well for two players.

We were actually doing quite well for first-timers until we encountered a major issue in the second room — one of the clues wasn’t functioning properly, which prevented us from progressing. A staff member came to assist, but she couldn’t resolve the issue either. This technical problem ended up eating into 15–20 minutes of our time.

When I asked about getting compensated for the lost time, the staff member said she would speak with the manager. However, we never got to speak with the manager ourselves, and no further follow-up was provided. To make matters worse, we felt rushed out of the room once the time was up, without any proper resolution.

I’m leaving this review in hopes that the management sees it. Your staff needs better training in both troubleshooting technical issues and handling customer concerns professionally. We lost valuable time through no fault of our own, and we’d like to know how you plan to...
