May 26 @ 5:30pm - Worst service ever. Would give it 0 stars if I could but 1 star is the minimum. Went in to buy a pair of sandals wearing one sandal (with my broken one in my hand) because mine broke, the girl at cash kicked out and called security on me instead of letting me buy $7 pair of plastic shoes.
The security guard even asked the lady several times to let me buy shoes and she still refused to serve me. The security guard then said to me āI understand as this happens all the time and I donāt know why she wonāt let you buy shoes but I have to side with her.ā She then came outside the store to continue to YELL AT ME in front of customers. Inside I could hear her talking about me and laughing at me with customers. A concerned customer even came outside to see if I was okay while this lady was yelling at me.
I then went to Red Reef who let me in to look at shoes and was very understanding, unfortunately they didnāt have my size. I then went to Colombia and the lady personally came around the counter to help me find the right size. Shoes were a bit more expensive but the service and understanding was completely worth it. I explained the situation to each store and they could not believe the girl at the Village Market would treat me like that. Both of them even said they usually send people there in similar situations since it happens quite often, and usually thereās no problem. This girl just really wanted to start an argument.
I am a regular at the village and I will NEVER go back to this store again and I will continue to tell my friends and family about this TERRIBLE experience. Management should seriously consider training this girl on what customer service is. There were so many ways this could have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDecent convenience store with good variety of supermarket type selections. Not too busy so you don't have to compete with the hoards of tourists Blue Mountain see on weekends.
You can get bread (including hot dog buns, wraps), cheese, hot dogs (they stock the beef version too - 6 links for $8++; yummy), sauces such as ketchup and Tabasco sauce, some canned food, and more. There's also a readymade sandwich section.
You can also find non-food items like slippers and sunglasses.
Prices are acceptable. I bought a 57ml Tabasco sauce, a pack of Wonder hot dog buns (8 pieces), and a President's Choice beef hot dogs (6 large links) for $17.07 including HST.
Cashier was also very friendly, offering me more options to explore when I considered buying a pair of sunglasses for my hubby.
Why 5-star? It serves its purpose without charging overtly-touristy prices like some of the attractions in Blue Mountain. Service is good too.
But of course, if you're heading to Collingwood, then by all means buy from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday was my first time visiting blue mountain and it was pretty good until visiting this store. I just ran in to grab a couple things for my kids and was so surprised to see the cashier yelling at another customer for trying to buy shoes because hers were broken. I donāt know the whole story of what happened but I did hear the security guard saying heās sorry for her being treated so badly. At that moment I dropped my items and walked out. No paying customer should ever be treated so badly. I was completely disgusted with this cashier!! If we ever come back here I donāt know if I would want to shop here. That very well could have been me, and who would go in for me to pay? Certainly not my 6 and 8...
