Easy, mostly flat trail to a beautiful beach through some pretty temperate rainforest. No problem for our 3 and 6 year olds. Lots of parking space available, no fee. There is a pit toilet at the parking lot.
Copied from my review for tonquin beach: Beautiful beach. Lots to explore: during low tide you can enter small caves in the rocky hillside. There are lots of tide pools with starfish, anemones, small crabs, mussels and so on (check for low tide times before planning your visit!). The sea is rather calm and the cove seems to be not as exposed as some other beaches in the area.
The 1+ km walk through the forest was quite fun and easy to manage for our 2 kids aged...
Read moreIf you're visiting Tofino I'd strongly recommend this hike! It's a well maintained trail that ambles down the coast from beach to beach. There are some uneven parts and every now and then you have to scramble down onto the beach (a big step or bending down and using your hands to support yourself). But my friend and I made it easily along in our sandals. The beaches are stunning sandy spots that you suddenly burst upon from the forest. Take snacks and plenty of water, beach towels and maybe even a kite! Be mindful of the trail warnings about respecting the wildlife and taking care around...

Decided to go left (“Not Beach”) on the connector trail and it was disappointing… a newly constructed gravel “path” that is wide enough to fit two cars side by side. Tons of path construction debris and cut down trees. Not the forest trail I was hoping for. Also, there is zero signage on the connector trail and it’s branches.
