Here’s my experience, walk into the shed to go for dinner. There’s not much for seating so I understand a little bit busy yet we sit up at the Bar to have dinner. I ordered a drink for me and my wife from the manager I believe as she was dressed to look like a manager. So now I ask her about my menu is this the menu for the restaurant? She says yes. I get my drinks a few minutes later. Fantastic. I’m thinking great services is gonna be fantastic. Well, oh my dear was that the mistake me thinking that things were gonna go great. As I finished my beer and my girlfriend has now drank half of her Caesar, we have noticed this manager walk by us seven times and not once looking at us almost to avoid us so she does not have to take our order. We noticed her lounging around, walking around with a couple of bowls of food, trying to find the tables for where they belong to yet watch her, walk it back to the kitchen. So then I ask a waiter. Can we get some service? Is there anyone that could help us oh it’s the bartender that’s supposed to help you. I want to remind you. We were sitting at the bar now and again we’re not big drinkers so my thoughts are around 14 minutes now while the bartender is mixing drinks going away from the bar and we’re just sitting there. So again I asked the waiter if we could get some assistance thinking well maybe just maybe he would tell someone that we’re sitting there very patiently waiting to order our dinner. I was completely mistaken that did not happen so my wife put on her jacket and we sat there till finally it was enough. I’ve had finished my drink. She had finished her drink and enough is enough. We’re not able to order food from this place. So I tell this manager. I believe you need to learn how to service the customer when they are there waiting very patiently yet she very arrogantly. I will say said to me well I did serve you your beer very fast. Once again I complained can I have the bill as we are not satisfied with the service you would think she would offer something to say she apologized, but no, she would not. She had the nerve to give the bill and then proceed for us to pay and then ask us if we want exact change back. So I’m just giving you all fair warning coming to Tofino this restaurant that might look very, very good and very busy. Might surprise you with the lack of true customer service one should have as running a restaurant and trying to serve the customer.

My partner and I visited Tofino this past weekend and had to stop at Shed as one of us is a HUGE burger fan. The service was great, the outdoor patio was more than warm (our faces were HOT by the end of our meal), and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I ordered the Royale burger on a gluten free bun (I am celiac) with a salad (FYI they do not have a dedicated GF fryer). Unfortunately the gluten free buns they have chosen to use are not the best. After the first bite my bun began to literally disintegrate. This is not the first time I have encountered this, however, as a 'burger' restaurant I had higher hopes that they would have a higher quality bun. Also, my burger was sadly lukewarm. My partner had the standard Royale burger, and he had no complaints. Would definitely recommend, however, for my fellow GF folks out there, skip the bun, you'll be happier.

Came here with my man for his b-day dinner. That we didn't end up even getting to order. We were served our drinks fast. Within 2 minutes of sitting down. We were more hungry than anything. Thinking oh this will be nice and fast service. Oh boy we were wrong.. the lady who was supposed to be serving us walked by at least 7 times avoiding eye contact with us. We waited 15 minutes. My man finished his drink. I was halfway done mine. I put my Jacket on as a sign of if we don't get service in the next 5 mins we will be walking out and taking our hard earned money else where. 20 minutes of waiting and nothing. My man asked for the bill. I didn't even finish my drink and they charged $19.25 for 2 drinks. Than had the nerve to ask if I wanted my change back. Uh yeah!!! Needless to say. Not going back. Poor customer service.

So I was a little hesitate on writing this but I really thought the situation wasn't handled appropriately or efficiently.

We came in the shed for the first time last Saturday from Victoria and we’re told how great it was so we decided to try it; my partner has allergies & they are all anaphylactic. We caution that at first everytime we go to eat and let the waitress know he has an epi pen because of the severity ( not a tolerance or preference just for more reassurance). We also understand eating out is a risk and we don’t do it often but since it was my birthday we decided to try something new.

Anywho; he ordered a salad in which the waitress, food runner and which by passed the chef said we’re all fine for the allergies. When the food gets to the table my partner takes on bite and immediately starts getting a reaction, and the waitress comes over to inform us there is mayo in the dressing. We asked where the nearest hospital and pharmacy were so we could get benedryl right away and in the off chance that the small amount sent him to the hospital we wanted to make sure we knew where to go .Our friend was there as well and we had to wait for our take out boxes and my friends bill as he was sent off to the pharmacy, I appreciate getting our bill covered but sitting there waiting for our friends bill ( which he had to pack up in 2 mins) as the waitress, was busy I get that but it was an emergency and no one really had any urgency to them, except us. It just seemed like it was overlooked by a lot of people in this situation and if you would've said I can’t cater to these allergies we would have been more than happy to go elsewhere to a place who will or...

Visited on Monday, August 21 at 9.30pm

Food was brilliant! We all got different burgers and fries and all of us loved the food. Great atmosphere too, especially for a Monday evening - both the beer garden and inside were relatively busy.

We were greeted by a very friendly host who sat us quickly, but 15 minutes later our server had still not come over to the table. When she finally arrived at the table, we were greeted with “What do you want”. My three gussets and I all work as waiters and thought this was very unprofessional and unfriendly. She then joked about us being “cheap” for not wanting to spend extra and get beers, but water instead.

The food came before any sign of the waters we had asked for, we requested for water again but never received any. Our waitress dropped a dessert menu over and jokingly said “we have some cheaper options the four of you can split because you’re clearly trying to save some money”.

This was the third time she had mentioned our finances now, twice when ordering food and now at dessert. We opted not to get dessert and go back to the hotel, having travelled 14 hours that day. Having received appalling service we tipped minimally. Our waitress suggested we find a cheaper restaurant to eat at in the future because “we clearly could not afford a restaurant like this”, and stormed off.

I would like to reiterate that the food was beautiful, the environment was great but the service on this particular day was...
